A step further into the countryside on the outskirts of Wadebridge, at Janet Shearer's Artists' Retreat you can experience the essence of Cornish country life surrounded by peacocks, dogs, horses, and the views of the verdant Ruthern Valley. 

Yet all this lies just a short drive from the wild oceanic scenery of the North Coast. Made with artists in mind, but not solely for those of you who want to pick up a paintbrush, this is a place to just getaway from it all. The doors to the new barn conversion open in June this year, promising a cosy retreat for couples (or up to four), with a painting studio and the tutelage of an internationally renowned Trompe L'oeil artist at your fingertips if you wish.

Once an old stable, Mynford is now a spacious, well-equipped and beautifully furnished cottage. Perfectly situated for the surfing beaches on the North Cornish coastline, the cottage is nestled in a secluded countryside location less than 2 miles from the coast. 

Inside you can relax in a clean, stylish and contemporary setting with nautical features such as the clinker boat hanging from the beams. Oak flooring, a wood-burning stove, wooden beams and a stable door to the garden create an idyllic country cottage feel that has been seamlessly fused with all mod-cons.

Once a working mill house, in the hallway you will find a glass panel in the floor that shows where the mill wheel used to be. Nestled in a secluded countryside location just a couple of miles from the coast, the house boasts large 

character rooms with oak floors, huge open-plan living areas, contemporary bathrooms with slate floors and luxurious bedrooms. Beachy features include wooden oars used as the stair rail, whilst the wood-burners, beamed ceilings and countryside setting reinforce the country-house ambience.

The epitome of country-living-on-sea, Little Trebarwith barn is situated in 50-acres of private farmland on the North Cornish coast, offering staggering ocean views beyond verdant cliff-top fields. 

Recently renovated to exceptional standards using Cornish oak, local Delabole slate and Cotswold stone flooring, the accommodation has a distinctly period cottage-feel which has been finished with a stylish blend of traditional and contemporary décor. On the same site as the Trebarwith Strand Coastal Retreat (a neighbouring barn sleeping up to 8), Little Trebarwith opens its doors in July, and can be hired out exclusively for four, or along with the bigger barn for large parties.
