Introduction
If you fancy a taste of the high life, then this island beach house just off the coast of Newquay is the idyllic luxury pad for you. With its far-reaching coastal views and suspension bridge approach, The House In The Sea is a truly unique home stay. Once you’ve ceremoniously raised the flag to signify your arrival at your very own secluded island paradise, you simply won’t want to leave...
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
An idyllic setting in which to recline for modern romantics; the luxury master bedroom suite occupies the first floor of the house. From the four-poster bed to the storm-watching snug, the spacious dressing room to the en suite shower room, you’ll feel ensconced in your own world as you enter this tranquil island retreat in Cornwall. On the ground floor there are two king-size double rooms; one zip-and-link with en suite shower room, plus family bathroom.
Outside
The island and bridge is fenced and therefore the fact that there are steep cliffs on all sides should be of no concern, indeed that is one of the main attractions of this unique beach house property! There’s never been a more perfect setting for a sun-downer than the ‘top deck’ which faces directly seaward, whilst the ‘lower deck’, historically referred to as the ‘ladies sunbathing area’, is a private nook perfect to escape to with a good book (and a pair of binoculars). There’s a real Mediterranean feel to the BBQ area - just add blankets to the rocking chairs on the veranda to make the most of this all-seasons setting just off the coast of Newquay.
For Relaxation
The sitting room is the perfect haven in which to kick back and relax, whether it’s just the two of you enjoying a romantic escape, or you’re sharing the space with family and friends. With the best views in the house, this is the perfect room from which to fully appreciate your spectacular setting. Alternatively, release your inner mixologist in ‘The Bar’ area; complete with 42" TV, bar billiards table and, of course, a fully equipped bar.
Practicalities
There is garage parking for two vehicles a short distance from the island. Please note there is a steep entrance to the garage which all but the lowest slung cars will be able to access - but high vehicles like MPVs may need to park on the street or in the nearby car park. Access to the house is down a flight of stone steps and across the suspension bridge. The island is gated on the mainland to ensure absolute privacy, the opposite end of the bridge (the island end) is un-gated. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer at the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric hob, electric cooker and coffee maker.

AROUND THE PROPERTY
Style: A pallet of inky blues, charcoal greys and tonal neutrals create a calming vibe. Influenced by the coastal setting, furniture finds combine a fluidity of form with knotty textures redolent of fishermen’s nets.

EXTRA TOUCHES
Our Take
Director Sarah says
The location is absolutely like nothing you´ve ever experienced before, can only be described as both dramatic and sensational- and only fully appreciated once you have stood on the island to see all that it has to offer. The views out across the sea are unsurpassed, a very special home indeed.

Home-Cooked
The spacious kitchen/diner leads directly out onto the garden and is the perfect spot for coffee and croissants. The kitchen is complete with all the necessaries, whilst little extras like the wine chiller ensure that you’re always in holiday mode. On balmy eves throw open the doors that lead directly from the sitting room/diner and make the most of the setting with an ice cold G&T.
In-House Cuisine
If you'd rather spend your break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost). See our selection of tried and tasted recommendations here.
Eating Out
Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant at nearby Watergate Bay offers an innovative menu of the best seasonal and local produce and is definitely worth a visit (booking recommended). Nestled above the cliffs of Pentire Headland, looking out across the mighty Atlantic, Lewinnick Lodge has probably one of the best coastal views anywhere.
