Recently re-styled and re-imagined, this iconic property can be yours exclusively on a self-catering basis for the first time ever. Once you’ve ceremoniously raised the flag to signify your arrival at this secluded island paradise, you simply won’t want to leave...
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Swathes of sumptuous fabrics and eclectic art finds combine with the finest of linens to ensure a blissfully uninterrupted night's slumber. The chosen pallet of greys and chalky whites in the bedrooms evoke thoughts of dramatic Cornish granite outcrops and windswept walks. There is a luxury four-poster master bedroom suite which occupies the first floor of the house and is approached via a private staircase; an idyllic setting in which modern romantics will find peace and rejuvenation. On the ground floor there is a double room with a day bed, one king-size bedroom (can also be arranged as a zip-and-link) with en suite shower room, plus a family bathroom with a tub and overhead shower.
There’s never been a more perfect setting for a chilled sun-downer than the ‘top deck’ which faces directly seaward, whilst the ‘lower deck’ (historically referred to as the ‘ladies sunbathing area’) is a private nook perfect to escape to with a good book (and a pair of binoculars). There’s a real Mediterranean feel to the BBQ area - just add blankets to the chairs on the veranda to make the most of this all-seasons setting just off the Cornish coast. The romantics among you will cherish sitting side-by-side on the 'kissing tree' and gazing out to the vast blue ocean...
The sitting room is the perfect haven in which to kick back and relax, whether it’s just the two of you enjoying a romantic beach escape, or you’re sharing the space with family and friends. With the best views in the house, this is the perfect room from which to fully appreciate your spectacular setting. Alternatively, release your inner mixologist in ‘The Bar’ area; complete with 40" TV, bar billiards table and, of course, a fully equipped bar. The House in the Sea is equidistant between foodie Mecca Padstow and the bustling city of Truro, meaning whether you crave fish and chips on the harbour, or fine dining in a Michelin starred restaurant, there are plenty of options to tempt nearby.
There is garage parking for two cars a short distance from the island. Please note there is a steep entrance and low ceiling to the garage which is not suitable for tall vehicles or very low slung cars. Access to the house is across the suspension bridge. The bridge is gated on both ends to ensure absolute privacy. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer at the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric hob, electric cooker and coffee maker.

AROUND THE PROPERTY
Style: A pallet of inky blues, charcoal greys and tonal neutrals create a calming vibe. Influenced by the coastal setting, furniture finds combine a fluidity of form with knotty textures redolent of fishermen’s nets.
Director Sarah says
The location is absolutely like nothing you´ve ever experienced before, and can only be described as both dramatic and sensational- and only fully appreciated once you have stood on the island to see all that it has to offer. The views out across the sea are unsurpassed, a very special home indeed.

FOOD AND DRINK
The spacious kitchen/diner leads directly out onto the garden and is the perfect spot for coffee and croissants. Little extras like the wine chiller and bar ensure that you’re always in holiday mode. On balmy eves throw open the doors that lead directly from the sitting room/diner and make the most of the setting with an ice cold G&T.
If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant across the cliffs at nearby Watergate Bay offers an innovative menu of the best seasonal and local produce and is definitely worth a visit (booking recommended). Walk down the steps on to the beach and across to the harbour for The New Harbour restaurant- a hidden gem loved by locals for its simple fresh seafood offerings. Rick Stein's Padstow is just a short drive away and also comes highly recommended!
