Bluebell Grey sits in an enchantingly beautiful secluded location near Ilminster in the rolling Somerset countryside with fragrant blooms and birdsong providing the backdrop. This effortlessly stylish luxury self-catering cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coast; time spent at this very special abode will be cherished by the whole family.
Traditionally thatched using water reed and wheat, this flawless example of a Grade-II listed 16th century old rectory epitomises the English countryside dream. The traditional honey-coloured façade conceals the stylish and elegant interiors within. Discerning guests will adore the warm welcome from the neighbouring owners at this charming cottage in the Somerset countryside, and feel right at home with discreet mod cons and sumptuous fabrics sprinkled throughout.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Both the ground floor bedrooms boast luxury linens and the softest cloudburst pillows to ensure a blissful uninterrupted night's sleep. The master bedroom is furnished in a romantic French style with a smattering of florals and accents of bluebell, whilst the twin room (which can also be arranged as a superking-size bed on request) is smartly dressed and inspired by the landscape all around. Each bedroom has its own en suite shower room.
The picture-perfect gardens to the front of the cottage are adorned with pretty herbaceous borders, wild flowers and rambling roses, as well as relaxing areas for enjoying a tipple in the late afternoon sunshine. There are extensive views over the countryside towards Glastonbury, and children of all ages will enjoy the large enclosed shared gardens which have a trampoline, tyre swing, rope ladder and football net. Described by the ancient Welsh Celts and Saxons as the 'Land of the Summer People', Somerset is a county of captivating contrasts. Its coast takes in long sweeping sandy beaches, seaside resorts, harbours and marinas, and the dramatic Exmoor coastline is something visitors will be inspired to write home about.
Enjoy views over the gardens towards Glastonbury where the birdsong and the peal of the church bells are the only thing to disturb you from your chilled glass of Pimms! Summer afternoons are best spent cloud-watching whilst lazily swinging in the hammock, whilst the little ones play happily alongside. Foodie aficionados will love the Oyster Bar in nearby Lyme Regis, and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage in Axminster.
There is private parking for two cars. The cottage is well-equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, electric oven and hob.

FOOD AND DRINK
After a day exploring the local area, return rosy-cheeked to your luxury cottage to create a family favourite supper in the country kitchen. The chunky wooden table in the open plan space is ideal for romantic suppers or informal breakfasts, or in clement weather why not dine al fresco with the far-reaching countryside scenery providing the view.
If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
With a host of country pubs and delicious restaurants in both nearby Chard and Ilminster, you'll be spoilt for choice! The Windwhistle and the New Inn are a 20 minute walk away, or why not try the owners' favourite gastro pub? The Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton St George which is a pleasant cycle in summertime, or a short drive in winter and serves excellent locally sourced food.
