Get a taste of laid back coastal living in this characterful luxury boutique holiday cottage for two in the heart of Cornwall's Mousehole; the delightfully well-loved leather sofas and marshmallow bed offer a warming home-from-home welcome for couples looking for some time out together.
Get ready to be inspired by this stylish and characterful luxury holiday cottage where special touches abound in the heart of Mousehole; life at The Old Pilchard Press is tailored to relaxation and comfort. Inverted living means that the living area sits atop whilst the bathroom nestles below. The first floor bedroom boasts a bespoke stained glass pilchard press wheel window -the cottage's namesake!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The king-sized bedroom sits alongside the living room on the first floor, whilst the bathroom occupies the ground floor with its deep Albion bath tub and separate shower wet room providing the perfect space to pamper. The bedroom has a sprinkling of quirky beach-themed trinkets, whilst the bed is adorned with soft fine linens and promises an uninterrupted night's slumber...
Peacefully tucked away in a private square just a stone's throw from the harbour, The Old Pilchard Press is a little haven in the centre of Mousehole. The courtyard garden out back is a pretty spot for sundowners and that well-deserved G&T at the end of the day, whilst the area to the front of the cottage is a great place to greet passers-by on the way to collect the morning papers.
Don your Skipper's cap and with a cheery wink, it's just a short jaunt into the bustling harbour with its friendly locals and hive of activity. In winter months what could be better than squirrelling yourselves away with some delicious home-cooking and the pleasure of each other's company cosied up in front of the wood burner. Round the evening off deliciously with a bottle of fizz and a saucy bubble bath for two!
There is a public long stay parking area two minutes walk from the cottage - parking charges are paid for by the owner from April to October, and an honesty box is in place the remainder of the time. There are low ceilings in places and crooked stone steps leading into the cottage which may prove difficult to negotiate, so we advise using the downstairs front entrance instead. There is a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.

Property Consultant Clare says
The quaint harbour side village of Mousehole is a buzz of activity all year through. We visited in the winter and loved sampling the local drinking holes and meeting some of the friendly characters eager to regale us with their tales! Don´t miss the famous Mousehole Christmas lights in December.

FOOD AND DRINK
The well-equipped kitchen has a Kitchen Aid mixer, food processor and large cooking range with intimate eating area, making it a delightful space to demonstrate your culinary wizardry using the freshest catch of the day! The courtyard garden is perfectly suited to taking afternoon tea, or perhaps for enjoying an ice cold G&T in the Cornish sunshine.
If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
Within a short walk of the Old Pilchard Press there are a number of great eateries to choose from. Sample garden dining at The Old Coastguard, or take in the views whilst enjoying great bistro-style fare at 2 Fore St. Also well worth a visit is The Porthminster Cafe in St Ives - a great place to idle a summer's afternoon away.
