Inside

Built in 1850, the estate was once a working farm set in 600 acres of pastures and parkland. Perfect for family gatherings and milestone birthdays, Sarsden Manor offers a grand private country house in Oxford with a welcoming family ambiance.

• Style: Modern classic: a tasteful fusion of period and contemporary furniture, with fabulous modern artwork adorning the walls.
• Layout: Spacious living throughout 3 floors, formal sitting room with smaller reading room. Large dining room seating up to 22 guests and a great kids playroom. The basement is home to the large cinema room and games room.
• Bedrooms and Bathrooms: 9 spacious double rooms all with king-size beds in the main house; 1 double in both the adjacent cottages . All rooms are dressed to a high standard, with eclectic artwork and period features. There are 4 en suites and 3 family bathrooms in the main house - the master en suite has a central bath and some of the claw foot baths are positioned so guests can enjoy countryside views from the tub. Both of the cottages have private bathrooms.
• For relaxation: The large sitting room with squishy sofas, open fire and plenty of extra seating is the ideal place to relax en masse, whilst the smaller sitting room is the perfect spot to breakout for some me-time.
• For recreation: A luxurious cinema room and games room (with table tennis and table football) will keep the troops entertained. There is also a kids' playroom that opens out onto the gardens. Enjoy an early morning dip in the generous outdoor heated pool.
• Practicalities: 2 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers and 2 dishwashers, microwave and ample parking.

Outside

Lose yourself in the 600 acres of beautifully manicured lawns, sprawling pastures and lush parkland. There is a walled kitchen garden from where we will provide a basket of in season vegetables when possible, as well as a sheltered courtyard and a BBQ area with outdoor furniture - perfect for alfresco dining. Active guests can take a dip in the large outdoor pool or head for the tennis courts, whilst those seeking relaxation can recline in a sunny corner.

Food and wine

• DIY: The unique leather-floored dining room seats up 22 guests. The kitchen, undoubtedly the hub of the house, is ideal for sunny breakfasts and more laid back meals. Perfect for large group catering, the kitchen is equipped with an AGA, hob, electric oven, microwave, an American-style fridge/freezer and ample crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. Enhance your self-catered stay by adding bubbles and chocolates, a cream tea or fresh picnic from Unique Boutique.
• In-house cuisine: Catering is available at an additional cost and is to be arranged direct with the caterers. We are able to provide you with contacts for recommended caterers on request.
• Eating out: Enjoy fine food and local ales at the Kingham Plough and The Kings Head Inn, a former 16th Century cider house at Bledington.
