This luxury self-catering holiday home is the result of a sensitive renovation project to bring the house bang into the 21st century.
Kick back and enjoy the stunning coastal vistas in this reverse-level converted industrial building, nestled in the heart of what Dylan Thomas called 'the prettiest village in England'. This luxury self-catering home is ensconced in a lively and friendly seaside town, just a pebble's throw from the harbour with its sweet beach and collection of traditional inns and cafes. Throw open the tilt-and-turn windows wide to invite the scents and sounds of the lively harbour town to float in.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
There are five bedrooms at The Fish Store; two on the ground floor and three on the first floor. One king-size double, plus a zip-and-link twin room sits on the ground floor, whilst on the first floor there is a king-size double, plus two twin rooms which can also be arranged as king-size doubles via zip-and-link. All have a chest of drawers and shaker peg hanging for storage. There is a family bathroom with bath and separate shower. One of the super-king doubles has an en suite shower room, the king-size double has a bath and sink in the room. There is also a ground floor wet room with steam room.
There is a small courtyard area at the back of the cottage, where there's space for a couple of deckchairs; ideal for a morning coffee or a sundowner BBQ. Enjoy sand-between-toes at the harbour beach, or take to the coastal paths and enjoy a day exploring the dramatic coastline before returning ruddy-cheeked for an al fresco feast.
You'll find it hard to tear yourself away from the mesmeric coastal vistas which are best enjoyed whilst reclining on the sofa or enjoying a sundowner supper. Head to the ground floor where there is a three metre projector screen (with DVD and Apple TV for high definition movies) which makes for a perfect rainy day hideaway. Complete with log burner, this spacious room is also perfect for a spot of table tennis. With adjacent small kitchen area, you can keep film-nibbling snacks close at hand and replenish the popcorn at your leisure.
There is a ground floor laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is garage parking for one small to average sized car, whilst additional long-stay parking is available a short distance from the house; a parking permit will be available for your use whilst staying at the property.

Style: The cottage has been modernised to include all mod cons whilst retaining the original features; chunky beams and whitewashed walls provide the perfect backdrop for interesting artwork and key design pieces.

The house was built in 1899 to process the pilchards (Cornish sardines) which swarmed around Mounts Bay. In 1939 our grandparents Betty and Edwin fled Paris and the impending war, and made The Fish Store their home. We lovingly renovated our Cornish home in 2009 and offer you a very warm welcome!

FOOD AND DRINK
The spacious kitchen is the perfect domain in which to let your inner chef loose! Here you'll find a double electric oven, gas hob and American-style fridge-freezer as well as lots of cookery books to inspire, you'll be whipping up the perfect feast in no time! On the ground floor there's a small kitchen area that includes a sink and microwave. The spacious open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room is an amazing sociable space, perfect for a group getaway.
If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
Within a short walk of the cottage there are a number of great eateries to choose from. From garden dining at The Old Coastguard to taking in the views whilst enjoying great bistro-style fare at 2 Fore St. Also well worth a visit is The Porthminster Cafe, St Ives - a great place to idle a summer's afternoon away.
