Spinnakers | Luxury Self-Catering Cottage | St Mawes, South Cornwall

St Mawes, The Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, UK

Tucked away in a tranquil setting a stone’s throw from the fishing village of St Mawes, Spinnakers is a gorgeous self-catering cottage offering a wholly rejuvenating coastal escape in south Cornwall. Combining country cottage charm with seaside appeal, a backdrop of granite greys and stormy blues create an atmospheric setting for vintage treasures.

A luxury cottage by the sea near St Mawes, Spinnakers offers relaxed coastal living and simply radiates warmth and home-comforts. Embracing authentic Cornish style with subtle nautical interiors, chunky beams and exposed stonework, this open-plan home has style, location and comfort in abundance. Throw open the double doors to the peaceful garden and take a pew on the sheltered decking; an idyllic spot for sunny breakfasts, al fresco feasts and twilight cocktails.

With every inch of space cleverly thought out, Spinnaker’s open-plan living area is a real sanctuary throughout the day. In the king-size bedroom, whitewashed wood and reclaimed furnishings rule the roost, while the cosy twin offers wildlife-watching through the double doors from the comfort of cloud-soft beds. After salty adventures on the Roseland Peninsula, enjoy an end-of-day wind down with tipple in one of the local inns before sinking into a candlelit bath at your home-from-home.

Nestled in the gentle crook of apple blossoms and undulating lawn, Spinnakers' garden offers a quiet place to sit back and get away from it all. Doze to the sound of frogs croaking in the pond and read beneath the shade of swaying trees. Further afield, there are certainly no lack of activities for visitors to St Mawes. With sheltered coves in which to lazily paddleboard with the seals; boutiques and restaurants to visit; and even a secret cinema, there really is something for the whole family.

Guest Testimonials

Spinnakers was a relaxing and cosy base from where we were able to explore the stunning Roseland Peninsula and beyond. We enjoyed some amazing scenery and were able to do some walks directly from the cottage which was ideal. St Just in Roseland church was a highlight. It has also been excellent to enjoy much of the local food and drink that Cornwall has to offer. We enjoyed meals at Idle Rocks, The Watch House and St Mawes Hotel. Tarquins Cornish Gin is something to be savoured and a bottle has been taken back home!

Spinnakers is a really beautiful cottage; spacious, immaculately clean, welcoming and extremely comfortable. The house has has every facility we were looking for and and was blissfully relaxing and peaceful. The garden reserved for our use was particularly lovely. We would definitely book a stay here again.

What a lovely place to spend a few lovely days exploring this wonderful area. We can recommend Miss V´s tearooms at St Just Church, a lovely walk there too. We also enjoyed a very muddy walk down the lane into St Mawes. We absolutely loved our stay!

Thank you for a very peaceful holiday home. Thank you for the great welcome and ideas. Fish and trips were great! We had fun on the Camel Trail and enjoyed a lovely meal in Padstow!

Spinnakers was lovely, an idyllic spot. The owners of the property were very helpful and friendly, yet we also felt we had our privacy too for a real treat of a holiday. Unique Homestays´ booking process was excellent and easy to understand. The hamper was very tasty too!

The fridge was well stocked with excellent local produce for out stay and the property itself was finished to a high standard. The owners provided a travel cot, which wasn´t necessary but was a nice touch.

Spinnakers has been converted, decorated and furnished with great flair. We chose the coldest March week that Cornwall has ever had, so the warmth and cosiness of the property was very much appreciated as was the cleanliness.

Great space for kids to run around in the garden and play outside, yet still close to St Mawes. The owners Maxine and Peter were outstanding and made the experience all the more special for us, and our children. Maxine was wonderful, gave us loads of great ideas of where to go, and my 4 year old son would love going to see the chickens with Maxine to see if there were any new eggs. The property was lovely, and the gardens and the setting were absolutely perfect.

We had a great stay at the Spinnakers - the owner Maxine was friendly and very accommodating, giving us our complete privacy but making sure we had all we needed.
