Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The bedroom benefits from a hand-built king-sized bed and is bedecked with a luxury natural silk-filled duvet and sumptuous linens which promise a blissful night's sleep. The unique picture window provides sigh-inspiring views over Loch Ewe which serve as a therapeutic accompaniment to breakfast in bed. Enjoy a romantic start to the day in the generous walk-in shower made-for-two; pure luxury with underfloor heating and all mod cons.

Located at the mouth of River Ewe, the small village is more northerly than Moscow and St Petersburg, yet has a temperate climate due to the Gulf stream, and boasts the most northerly tropical garden in the world! Grab a blanket and find an idyllic spot to enjoy romantic evenings as the sun sets over the loch.

Out & About

Discover places to see and things to do whilst in and around Loch Ewe, Scotland to truly enhance your stay come rain or shine!

Buckets and Spades Enjoy a good old fashioned day at the seaside with cucumber sandwiches, homemade pink lemonade, and long sunny days spent splashing about in the sea. There are many beautiful sandy beaches in the area, including Red Point, Gairloch, Big Sand, Inverasdale, Mellon Udrigle and Gruinard.

Green Fingers A visit to Wester Ross would not be complete without a visit to Inverewe Gardens. A lush, tropical oasis perched on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe amid the rugged landscape of Wester Ross, this world-famous 54 acre historic garden is one of Scotland’s most popular botanical attractions. It is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of estate managed for conservation. Highlights include the most northerly planting of rare Wollemi pines, Himalayan blue poppies, olearia from New Zealand, Tasmanian eucalypts, and rhododendrons from China, Nepal and the Indian subcontinent.

Natural Beauty The glittering Hebridean waters have an abundance of marine wildlife; keep your eyes peeled for whales, dolphins, porpoises, sharks – the great creatures of the sea - with a wildlife safari cruise. On the shoreline there are colonies of seals and families of otters, whilst birds as rare and spectacular as the White-tailed Eagle and as lovable as the Puffin can all be spotted. In the spring and early summer take a trip to the enchanted Shiant Isles, home to many thousands of puffins, guillemots, razorbills and other seabirds.

Nearest Loch Right on the shores of Loch Ewe, 2.4 miles by road to Loch Thurnaig.

The modern kitchen offers plenty of space for self-catering and preparing romantic dinners for two without having to leave your loch-side haven. Fisherfolk will delight in being able to enjoy the freshest catch of the day to sizzle on the BBQ, with trout readily available in the surrounding lochs, and mackerel and whitebait which swim almost up to the door!

Eating Out

The area around Loch Ewe is delightfully unspoiled, yet the nearest small town of Gairloch is only six miles away and has a charming selection of restaurants and cafes. The Na Mara restaurant has a tempting selection of local seafood on offer with the freshest scallops, mussels and reel-caught prawns. For the true local Scottish experience, head to The Sheiling Restaurant where you can sink into large leather sofas while snacking on delicious home-cooked food made with fresh local produce. In the summer, here is the perfect spot to sit outside overlooking Loch Gairloch with a pint of the finest local ale. If you don't fancy leaving your Scottish abode, the landlord will prepare any of his homemade dishes as a takeaway if called between 6pm and 8pm on Mondays to Saturdays.
