Copywriter (Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover)

As lead copywriter you will deliver inspiring and captivating content to engage our customers, owners and brand followers. Creative yet commercially minded, you will spend your days writing for new property launches and blogs, refreshing website content, delivering customer newsletters and producing ad copy.

The Role

  • Create engaging, accurate and informative property and location pages
  • Adhere to the company brand guidelines and tone of voice
  • Contribute to the company’s marketing plan and execute elements as required
  • Input ideas into the creative content plan
  • Coordinate our weekly journal schedule in a timely manner
  • Write inspiring and engaging newsletters to strict deadlines
  • Incorporate knowledge of SEO keyword inclusion into copy
  • Support Head of Brand on creative campaigns
  • Deliver engaging social media captions on time
  • Support wider business communication updates 
  • Undertake SEO projects to boost online performance
  • Liaise with owners to ensure their property page is an accurate representation of their home

  • Assist the wider team in producing, editing, and proof-reading content for our campaigns, events and website
  • Assist with press releases and features as required
  • Proactively research the latest travel and interior trends
  • Undertake personal development to improve your knowledge and vocabulary of the property and design realm
  • Have an acute awareness of competitor activity to ensure our content and tone of voice is unique
  • Assist with ad copy as and when necessary
  • Represent the business and visit properties as and when necessary, conducting yourself in a professional manner in-line with our brand
  • Bring new ideas contributing to our evolving communications strategy

The Person

You will be reliable, self-motivated and experienced with a positive, can-do attitude. You will be full of enthusiasm, with the ability to work quickly and accurately under strict deadlines by prioritising effectively. A demonstrable interest in luxury homes and travel will give you an advantage.
The perfect candidate will have proven copywriting experience in a similar industry, a good eye for detail as well as excellent written and grammatical skills. Experience in proof reading and creative writing for digital media is essential. Candidates with knowledge of SEO and digital marketing will be at a strong advantage.

Experience and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in English, journalism, media studies or public relations
  • At least three years’ experience in similar field as a copywriter
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to communicate effectively with different audiences
  • Excellent grammar, writing and proofreading skills
  • Commercially minded while writing to inspire
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of SEO in practice, with experience of writing for web
  • Experience of leading proactive and reactive communications plans
  • Knowledge of how to engage audiences through variety of communication platforms – website, newsletters and digital
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise workload efficiently to meet deadlines

The Specifics

  • This role is a full time, working Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm
  • You will have 22 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, and your birthday off*
  • Access to private medical cover*
  • Starting salary is competitive and dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working - Cornwall office and home based a possibility
