All Destinations UK East Sussex Waldron

Halfway from Tunbridge Wells to Eastbourne, and right on the edge of the high-rolling High Weald, this little town has a regular food market and stunning old church and is close to Heathfield, where shops and restaurants provide all you need while staying nearby.

There is much to be said for living halfway between town and coast: just 40 minutes from Eastbourne and 30 from Royal Tunbridge Wells, Waldron gets the best of both worlds. This little village also has direct access to miles of lush green countryside as it hugs a spot right on the High Weald border: East Sussex at its very best. With walking routes, pony tracks and cycle trails threaded through the woods and meadows, the benefit of its position on a ridge means Waldron gets all of the above rural luxuries as well as breathtaking, scenic views of the verdant and history-rich countryside.

Family fun is varied and plentiful here, with East Sussex offering some of the finest days out. Drive along to the green domes of the Observatory Science Centre some 25 minutes south, with its fascinating space and science-themed exhibits, and one-off workshops. Meanwhile, Drusilla's theme park is perfect for those whose children wish to run off some steam in the adventure play areas, after visiting the extensive zoo and splashing about in the Get Wet! zone. Little train enthusiasts won't be left out either, as they can buckle up for a ride on the Safari Express, a peaceful way of pottering round the park.
