Luxury self-catering accommodation in Loch Lomond

Not far from the busy city of Glasgow is Loch Lomond, one of the most famous lakes in mainland Britain, with sporting adventures on its sparkly waters and scenic hikes nearby.

There is certainly no lack of activities and sites to keep one occupied on Loch Lomond. On calm days hop on a boat and cruise from shore to shore across the loch, with no care in the world but where to stop for a lunchtime pint. Luss, known as the prettiest village in the whole of Scotland, offers stunning views of mountain vistas, as well as maybe the finest seafood in the land at the Luss Seafood Bar. Of course, there are castles a-plenty in Scotland, and Loch Lomond is no exception with Dumbarton, Balloch and Inchgalbraith Castle all worth a visit.

Stretching for 96 miles from Milngavie to Fort William, taking in much of the western shore of Loch Lomond, the West Highland Way is a long-distance through-hike that really packs a punch. Soaring mountains, snow-capped peaks and glacial valleys produce breathtaking view upon breathtaking view. Just when nature can't get any more awe-inspiring, another summit looks down on the world, another loch reflects the stars and another glimpse of eagles soaring high makes you wonder what you were ever doing in a London office.
