Lead Interior Designer

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to head up the Interior Design Team, leading projects from concept to completion. Progressive in your design approach, you have experience in creating innovative schemes that exude a private - not holiday home – aesthetic, creating editorial-worthy properties for design-led guests.

The Role

  • Head up the Interior Design team
  • End-to-end project leadership and accountability
  • Concept creation based on client brief and company/guest expectations to include detailed working drawings, designs, plans and schemes
  • Set project schedules and costings
  • Documentation of project for editorial/ case study purposes
  • Sourcing FF&E
  • Supervise work at the design stage and on-site
  • Brief and liaise with appropriate specialists, from Architects to Quantity Surveyors to trades
  • Site visits within the south west and UK-wide when required
  • Keep up to date with new developments in the design industry

The Person

Design-focused and commercially savvy you will have the confidence and ease to create imaginative and innovative concepts that delight owners and ensure our portfolio continues to step away from the crowd. Rather than specialising in one sector or project stage, this varied role will expose you to multiple projects that will vary in scale and style.  You will lead our Interior Design team, to ensure the detail of every project is exquisitely realised and beautifully finished to deadline and budget.

Experience and Skills

  • Degree qualified akin to interior design, architecture or alike
  • Minimum of two years’ experience, with a strong portfolio of work undertaken
  • Creative flair and confident presentation skills
  • Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs
  • Site experience – following projects from concept through to construction
  • Proven work experience within the interior design sector (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions)
  • Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations
  • Accomplished and influential communicator and presenter
  • Proven project-management skills, with an aptitude and an appetite for working on multiple projects without compromising quality and deliverables.
  • Budget management, a clear understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and within budget
  • Knowledge of the wider construction and design industries
  • Understanding of building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors
  • A passion for people management and a desire to lead, coach and mentor the interior design team

Preferred 

  • Experience collaborating closely with owners of distinctive properties

 The Specifics

  • This role is a full time, working Monday-Friday 9am to 5:30pm
  • You will have 22 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, and your birthday off*
  • Access to private medical cover*
  • Starting salary is competitive and dependent on experience
  • Our hybrid work approach creates balance and flexibility for our team to split their time between working in our office (close to Newquay, Cornwall) and working from home, there will also be an element of travel to undertake site meetings for projects.
