Unique Homestays believe in a better world. A world where everyone has a place to call home. A world where kindness for each other and the environment reign above all. Championing local produce and suppliers across our portfolio, curating a dedicated collection of eco-conscious escapes and being completely paperless are just some of the small steps we have taken to reduce our carbon footprint. But we believe our responsibility as a business stretches even further, which is why, following every stay, we make a donation to a chosen charity to ensure a portion of our commission is going to a good cause elsewhere.

UNICEF: Ukraine appeal

[UNICEF LOGO/RELEVANT IMAGE]

Due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine we are donating to UNICEF’s Emergency Ukraine Appeal on a rolling basis from March 2022. Supporting UNICEF helps provide families with clean water and healthy food, ensure child protection services continue to run and deliver lifesaving supplies to support children and their parents, along with many other avenues of support for those suffering as a result of the conflict. To read more about where these donations will go, head straight to the UNICEF Ukraine Appeal page.

Rewilding Britain

[REWILDING BRITAIN LOGO/RELEVANT IMAGE]

From the 1st September 2019, we forged a relationship with Rewilding Britain where, for every booking made, we donated to help the restoration of Britain’s fragile eco system. In the 30 months in which we supported this progressive charity, over £12,000 helped create new channels for rewilding projects to connect with educational resources, along with supporting two pioneering reports which influenced the government’s Nature for Climate fund. For more information on where our donations have gone and what impact they have had, read: Two Years of Rewilding over on the journal.

Eco-friendly escapes

Solar thermal panels, reclaimed interiors, bee bricks, non-emission technologies, wildflower meadows and air source heat pumps make up the homes in our Eco-Friendly Collection. If reducing your carbon emissions while on holiday is at the top of your agenda, these homes span the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland; fight the good fight, without scrimping on luxury.
