Enveloped by the meadows, woodlands and streams that inspired Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable, it's perhaps hard to believe that Elberta Barn is only an hour and a half from London. In this owner chronicle, we speak with homeowner Joanne, a gallery and museum curator turned landscape designer, who reimagined an untouched 18th century threshing barn on the Suffolk–Essex border into a unique residence. It has since been honoured with not one, but two, much-coveted RIBA awards.
