Sundance | Luxury Cottage | Newquay, Cornwall

With a bohemian spirit and nomadic soul, this luxury self-catering couples’ hideaway resides off the beaten track between Newquay and Watergate Bay. Pared-back yet sumptuous, with heavy French linens and indulgent inside-outside living, this handcrafted wagon’s wild heart runs through each upcycled furnishing and feature.

Christmas at Sundance Cottage, Watergate Bay

A wayward gypsy who has tired of the road and settled into life close to the sea, Sundance will inspire couples to embrace their inner vagabond and roam barefoot in this peaceful part of rural north Cornwall. Barbecue bacon on the lower deck for an al fresco breakfast, curl up under the comfortable sound of rain falling overhead in the glass-enclosed veranda or simply lounge on the sun beds under the stars as the moon’s reflection dances on the wildlife pond. A truly unique luxury self-catering cottage hideaway, indeed.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The king-size bedroom with sleek en suite bathroom flaunts not only a roll-top bathtub, but a double walk-in shower which has more than enough space for two. Sinking into the cushy bed with a pile of the weekend papers, some hot coffee and pastries from the nearby deli, lazy afternoons have never been so rejuvenating.

The wildflower gardens surrounding Sundance burst with ornamental grasses as well as a confetti of pink foxgloves, rockery succulents and flitting butterflies. French doors lead out onto an enclosed suntrap patio, offering views over the orchard and across rolling Cornish countryside towards the coast at Watergate Bay. A tranquil escape with nothing to disturb but free range chickens clucking in the adjoining fields, spend balmy summer evenings lounging on a blanket and cooling under the pergola with tired toes dipped in the wildlife pond, gin and tonic in hand.

For Relaxation

A glass-covered front deck, complete with comfy sofas and thick textiles, enables star-spotting and cloud-watching in all seasons from the comfort of a unique inside-out space. From moorland rambles to boutique shopping and old-fashioned days at the seaside, this Cornish refuge has an unrivalled position for all the mighty north coast has to offer.

There is private parking for two cars. Sundance is well-equipped with an electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge, is warmed by central heating and a log burner and has a utility room with freezer, combined washing machine and dryer. The garden is not fully enclosed but is dog-friendly.
