Out & About

Discover places to see and things to do whilst in and around Trevalga, Cornwall to truly enhance your stay come rain or shine!

Boscastle Ramble two miles down the coastpath to Boscastle harbour. This charming village is sure to cast a spell over you; from the Witchcraft Museum to the quaint bookshop opposite, there is magic to be found in every corner. Beautiful Boscastle has also been used as a filming location for Doc Martin and Saving Grace, and has even starred in its very own BBC television series A Seaside Parish. In October, don't miss the Boscastle Food festival. Pick up a copy of the Parish paper The Boscastle Blowhole to get abreast of all the local goings-on!

Catch a Wave Whatever the weather and whatever your ability, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to hitting the surf. There are many secret surf spots nearby such as those at Millook and Trebarwith, or if you're more of a novice, head to Polzeath or Bude (both half an hour away) to find life-guarded beaches and friendly surf schools.

St Nectan's Glen This sacred site of AONB and SSSI is just around the corner and not to be missed. See how the River Trevillet has carved its way through slate and punched through the original basin to form a spectacular 60ft waterfall and natural pool. The locals even claim to have been pixies and fairies here - we'll leave that to your imagination!

Sea Fishing What better way to get a taste of Cornwall than catching your own supper!? A fishing day trip will provide you with the perfect opportunity to do just that. With all equipment provided, just bring yourselves; expect to catch anything from mackerel to cod, bream and pollock.

King Arthur’s Castle Descend the steep path from the village of Tintagel and explore the ruins of Tintagel Castle. Said to be the place where King Arthur was born, these clifftop ruins have Arthurian legend weaving through its foundations. Climb the 148 steps into the Great Hall, explore Merlin’s Cave when the tide is out or simply sit back and enjoy a cream tea with the sea sparkling ahead.

Nearest Beach 2 miles to Bossiney Haven, 4 miles to Trebarwith Strand, 14 miles to Polzeath.
