Out & About

Discover places to see and things to do whilst in and around Cadgwith Cove, Cornwall to truly enhance your stay come rain or shine!

Vitamin Sea The Lizard Peninsula is famed for its breath-taking coastline and unique landscape, so pack a bottle of suncream along with raincoat and walking boots to ensure you can enjoy the area whatever the weather. Thrill seekers will relish the chance to go coasteering or kayaking around the rugged shoreline.

Wild Swimming The secluded beauty of this stunning peninsula makes for sensational al fresco dips. The area is peppered with hidden coves and bays which are yearning to be discovered. Most noteworthy in Cadgwith Cove is the Devil's Frying Pan; a 200 foot drop into a collapsed cave where the sea flows through a narrow arch at high tide – not for the faint hearted and only advisable on a calm day!

Mining History Follow in the footsteps of the 18th Century Cornish tin miners on an atmospheric tour of Poldark Mine. Visit the Heritage Museum to learn more about the local mining history. The Halliggye Fogou is also worth a visit, being the largest and best-preserved underground tunnels associated with the Cornish Iron Age settlements.

Flower Finding A visit in spring or summertime is sure to inspire naturalists, when the hedgerows become alive with wildflowers including foxgloves, honeysuckle, campion and sea thrift. Those with a keener interest in floriculture might be able to spot some of the rarer breeds that thrive within The Lizard’s mild microclimate.

Humpty Dumpty Less than a ten minute drive away is the Cornish Camel Centre, an olde-worlde farm with friendly resident camels, offering treks through the beautiful countryside and woodland. A unique and unusual take on a romantic adventure!

Nearest Beach: Cadgwith is less than 400ft and just a two minute walk away.
