Introduction

Perfect for couples or families longing to escape the hubbub of city life, Clapper Bridge Cottage is just ten minutes away from the picture perfect Helford river and golden stretches of sand and dramatic coastline which comprise Cornwall's 'Wild West'. The welcoming open-plan interiors at this charming self-catering cottage create a sense of space, whilst the magical woodland setting will delight those who covet serene peacefulness and wild wanders.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

There are two sunny bedrooms at Clapper Bridge Cottage; throw open the double doors in the king size bedroom and enjoy the sound of nature as dappled sunlight streams in through the canopy of the trees above. The twin room has an en suite corner bath with overhead shower, whilst the king size room has an en suite shower room.

Outside

Explore the surrounding woodland, footpaths and stunning coastal scenery within which this gorgeous cottage is nestled. Approaching through winding country lanes and over a characterful clapper bridge, you find yourself in a haven of serene countryside. The private garden is skirted by a meandering river and a large decking area with riverside seating - the perfect place for lazing away sunny afternoons.

For Relaxation

Sit a while and take in the sights and sounds of the Helford river or demonstrate your culinary skills in the kitchen making good use of the traditional Aga. The owners are a wealth of knowledge in terms of where to find locally-sourced produce including the catch of the day from their very own fishing boat! The nearby organic spa retreat will be the ideal place to have your knots and worries skilfully eased away (advance booking recommended).

Practicalities

There is ample off-road parking for two cars. The approach to the property is what we lovingly refer to as an ‘unmade lane’ and may prove difficult for low-slung cars.  An outside utility room with washer and dryer is available. When the river runs high, it may prove difficult to drive through the ford to park next to the property, but alternative parking is available nearby.

Our Take

Marketing Coordinator Charlotte says

The welcoming open-plan interiors and high ceilings create a great sense of space at Clapper; I adored this stylish luxury rustic cottage with its stripped wooden floors, gorgeous fabrics and oodles of charm. The owners even offered us the freshest catch of the day from their fishing boat, YUM!
