Out & About

Discover places to see and things to do whilst in and around Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall to truly enhance your stay come rain or shine!

Towns and Villages The Cornish fishing villages of Portloe, St. Mawes and Portscatho are a short dive away and great to explore. From regattas to carnivals and mini festivals, the annual village celebrations are all rather quaint affairs, well worth getting involved in when on holiday in the Roseland.

Floating Cinema Take a trip across the water on the King Harry ferry and take in the sights and sounds of Cornish river life. The King Harry connects St Mawes and the Roseland with Feock, Truro and Falmouth. In summer the ferry transforms into a floating cinema, hosting open air movie nights and showing films such as Jaws, Perfect Storm and Mamma Mia.

Cornwall's Capital The cathedral town of Truro is a short drive away and boasts boutique shops, cosmopolitan eateries and a lively farmer's market every Saturday. Well worth a visit!

Fine Dining For an elegant dining experience, the renowned Tresanton Hotel in St Mawes has a seasonal menu to tempt the most discerning of palates. Also highly recommended are the Roseland Inn, Plume of Feathers, Hidden Hut and Melinsey Mill for delicious cakes.

Beach Days Armed with a delicious picnic of Camel Valley bubbles and finger sandwiches, head to the coast to enjoy a good old fashioned day at the beach. With miles of golden sand surrounding the area, guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to spend lazy summers days, whether you're looking for a hidden cove, sandy stretch or rock-pooling haven.

Ahoy there! The cottage is just moments away from St Mawes sailing club; the perfect base for motorboat and sailing jaunts surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Nearest Beach Seraphina is around one mile by foot (crossing the main road) or around two miles by car to Pendower Beach and three miles by foot (four by car) to Portscatho.
