Romany | Luxury Self-Catering Cottage Retreat | Rye, Winchelsea

Cool but cosy and bright, feminine but not the least bit ditsy, Romany promises a refreshing escape where flower children can waltz freely to the rhythmic beat of their untamed hearts. Hidden behind a meadow of swaying grass and with a hot tub settled between headily-scented herbs, here is a secret luxury cabin where one can run to in search of wild abandon.

Self-catering luxury cabin for hire near Rye, East Sussex

A true back-to-nature retreat not far from pretty Rye, Romany welcomes guests to kick off their shoes and fall into step with the gentle tempo of Romney Marsh. Inside is a welcoming, informal affair where pure relaxation washes through the soul, inviting winter nights curled by the woodburner and summer mornings making breakfast with the sun pouring through the windows. Here inside the bubble of this romantic self-catering retreat, it's as if nothing else in the world could possibly exist.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

With its shimmering chandelier and billowing muslin, Romany’s bedroom is a scene right out of a fairytale. Wake to the gentle swaying of fabric on the four-poster bed and stretch into the day with nothing on the agenda but propping up on soft pillows while sipping English tea. There is a roll top bath tucked into the bedroom at Romany, perfect for romantic evenings in together, and a shower room with WC in the connecting hallway.

A white picket fence, a colourful flower and herb garden and a hot tub for two tucked away far from view; Romany’s outdoor space offers a taste of The Good Life with some luxurious touches thrown in for good measure. On those blazing days when the sun scorches the ground, retreat to the daybed for an afternoon siesta before a lazy supper of local cheese and fresh bread under the pear tree as the sunset watercolours the sky.

For Relaxation

Half-timbered, quintessentially quaint Rye is a must for any visitor to East Sussex (and just 15 minutes from Romany), where a stroll down cobbled Mermaid Street is sure to delight with its old inns, tearooms, and boutiques. For those who want to move the book-reading and sun-lounging from cottage to sea, Camber Sands is classic seaside chic; a place where soft-whip ice cream and sandcastle building go hand-in-hand. Back at the cottage, spend evenings swinging between the steaming hot tub and squishy linen sofa before tumbling into the comfort of the four-poster.

There is private parking for one car. The kitchen includes a fridge with freezer box, electric oven with hob, dishwasher and washer-dryer. There are two Tonkinese cats who live nearby which may show their friendly faces, and the local wildlife has been known to wander through the doors on occasion! Due to the wooden structure, candles are not permitted.
