Discover places to see and things to do whilst in and around Cirencester, Gloucestershire to truly enhance your stay come rain or shine!

Cotswolds Life From the cosy tea rooms to the unusual curios boutiques and antique shops, Cotswolds towns and villages such as Cirencester, Tetbury, Cheltenham and Stow-on-the-Wold are wonderful to explore. Then there is the countryside, offering miles and miles of sensational scenery and country walks to get the heart racing.

Miles Without Stiles As part of the 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebrations, numerous walks were created and signed on a circular journey though some of the most beautiful local areas to Burcombe House. Each walk uncovers fascinating stories and facts along the way; sites of historical interest, areas rich in wildlife, cultural icons, archaeological treasures and more. The owners have put a guide in the house to help you get started!

Cirencester Often upstaged by sister town Cheltenham, Cirencester remains quite the hidden gem location despite being long-known as the capital of the Cotswolds. This traditional market town is teeming with spirit, best seen through its eclectic smorgasbord of independent boutiques, tearooms and restaurants. Cirencester park is a wonderful place to walk and picnic, with a whole schedule of Polo matches well worth a watch!

Cheltenham Back in its heyday, this market town was a prime 18th century spa resort for the wealthy. Today Cheltenham still carries an elegance and air of refinement, boasting a scintillating array of names on the high street and beautifully manicured greens to sit and enjoy your afternoon strawberries and cream. Then there are the races; a fabulous excuse to join the brigade of outlandish hats, have a flutter and drink champagne all day long.

Old Sports As if there weren’t enough sporting opportunities on site (including the gym and Euroclay tennis court), there is cycling in the Forest of Dean, fishing at Lake Pochard and you can even have a go at archery and air rifles at Combat Splat nearby.

Festival Fun The culture-rich city of Cheltenham hosts a range of fantastic festivals, from jazz to science, literature, food and of course the famous horse races at Badminton and Gatcombe.
