Artists and Lovers
Tatler - February 2017
Augustus John was a philandering creative genius who sired generations of hard-living and beauty-loving-bohemians - not least Ben John, furious smoker, wonderful whittler and creator of Charity, his rural hideaway, now restored by his son, the artist Henry John.
SelfBuild&Design - January 2017
Henry John has spent several years physically rebuilding the secluded 15th century Herefordshire retreat which as a child he helped to renovate with his father. The historic stone cottage named Charity is situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, the highest mountain range in Southern Britain.
The greater the wilderness, the greater the revelations. Being in the back of beyond allows us to loosen the ties that bind us to the familiar world and rediscover the simple pleasures in life. Let these remote retreats inspire your next great escape, into the wild.
Modern Rustic Cottage in the English Countryside of Herefordshire
One Kind Design - November 2016
This modern rustic cottage provides a wonderful self-catering vacation retreat surrounded by rolling hills and mountains in Herefordshire, United Kingdom. To access the home, you must travel down a winding mountain road in the secluded Olchon Valley, which offers breathtaking views of the Brecon Beacons mountain range.
Hot tubs at dusk, snooker and movies into the evenings, good sounds, lounging around the fire enjoying convivial meals at the table. Everyone who stayed was reluctant to leave, all having completely fallen in love with the calm grandeur of the setting and Charity itself.
So you’re off for a luxury weekend in the country and Rover’s off for a kennel-cation... Definitely not! We know that long walks, pub lunches and evenings by the fire just aren’t the same without your four-legged friends, so we’ve hand-picked the UK’s finest homes which welcome your pets on holiday too.
