Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The Butlery flaunts two beautifully designed first floor bedrooms, choose from either the king-size master bedroom with views out across the garden to the ocean beyond or the pretty twin bedroom. Each bedroom boasts fine linens, stylish flourishes and sumptuous touches to ensure a blissful slumber. The family bathroom has Jack-and-Jill twin sinks, a deep stand alone tub, and a walk-in rain shower for a perfect start to the day.


Sandwich Bay is a long sweeping inlet of the sea between Ramsgate and Deal, on the east coast of Kent. Sandwich is known for being one of the best preserved medieval towns in the UK making it a great destination for history lovers. The gravelled driveway of The Butlery leads onto a lawned garden, which is the perfect spot for al fresco dining and a game of bowls before sun down. Children will delight in the separate playroom in the courtyard (shared use) which has soft play, ping pong and more.

For Relaxation

Pack up jam sandwiches and a bottle of bubbly before skipping down the garden path over the sand dunes to the beach for a good old fashioned day at the seaside and a welcome dose of salty sea air. From the rolling Downs and the White Cliffs, to the wild open spaces of Romney Marsh and Dungeness- explore the ancient Wealden forests or follow the Pilgrims Way through hills and valleys. The Butlery is adjacent to the main house but has a private entrance and garden and ample parking for up to two cars. This self-catering property is well equipped with a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, and microwave.

Sandwich The picturesque Tudor town of Sandwich is 2 miles away and has a rich cultural heritage as one of the Cinque Ports. It has lots to see and do including an independent cinema, delicatessan and grocers, and many events in the town centre throughout the year.  

Birds of a Feather Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory Trust Field Centre is open daily and a great day out for all ages. The centre is a great source of information about general wildlife in the local area, as well as rarer sightings for the avid spotter. 

History and Architecture Canterbury has the perfect blend of city, coast and countryside, ensuring that however varied your interests are, you will be spoiled for choice. Don't miss the historic cathedral (the oldest in England) and numerous other examples of stunning architecture, all of which can be admired from a punting tour of the city.

On the Water Top windsurfing locations include Minnis Bay and Whitstable - conditions are so good a world speed record was even set there! Kent's calmer coastal and inland waters are ideal for kayaking and canoeing. Aficionados paddle the three spectacular routes that set out from both Sandgate and Sandwich Bay, or make for St Margaret's to glide below Kent's remarkable White Cliffs.
