Don't Forget Your Walking Boots Fossil hunters will delight at the Jurassic landscape; some of the rocks on Chesil beach are up to 200 million years old! Walk the Roberts' Trail, named so for the contribution that 18th century entrepreneur Richard Roberts made to the village of nearby Burton Bradstock. A walk around Ham Hill (a huge iron age hill fort with commanding views over the South Somerset Moors, Exmoor and the Mendips) takes about an hour and is well worth it.
Houses and Gardens Knightshayes is a National Trust property with stunning house and gardens, cafe and a gift shop. It also has the most beautiful walled kitchen garden you will ever see! The Hestercombe Gardens Project boasts stunning temples, lakes and formal beds and is the combined work of design greats Gertrude Jekyll and Sir Edward Lutyens.
