In the tranquil hamlet of Milborne Wick, this luxury self-catering cottage provides relaxation a-plenty for weary souls. Stylish and modern, but not without fanciful charm, Papilio Creek is ideal for those looking for some blissful time out. Read in the stone temple by the stream, picnic on the lawn or snuggle down with your beau for a night of movies and wine in the cottage’s home cinema. On prior arrangement, a range of spa treatments, massages and wellness activities can also be arranged in the privacy of your unique Dorset retreat.

A sanctuary for four guests, Papilio Creek boasts light, style and space whilst still being unequivocally welcoming. For slow mornings in bed over coffee and croissants, throw open windows to let the countryside sounds envelop the soul, taking pleasure in wrapping in rich Egyptian cotton linens and soft faux-fur throws. There is one family bathroom on the first floor with a deep free-standing bathtub and separate walk-in shower, ideal for soaking muscles after long walks in the country. At the end of the day, sip wine by the fire or curl up in the ultra-comfy hanging chair in the tranquil stone temple.

Spill from Papilio Creek onto the gently sloping lawn and wander down to the soothing millstream at the bottom of the garden. Here, sit amongst the butterflies with feet cooling in the water or watch the world go by with a rosemary-infused gin and tonic in the gorgeous stone temple. Spread blankets beneath trees, watch cobalt-blue damselflies hover under leaves and recline in the perfection of the English countryside. If you absolutely must leave, join the age-old hippies of Southern England and hike to the top of Glastonbury Tor for the most magnificent of panoramic views.

From the owner

“We definitely recommend heading to the rooftop to enjoy the private decked suntrap! A spacious environment for al fresco dining and secret sunbathing, relax amidst the twisted Italian bay and cherry trees to the sounds of nature.”

From the owner

Nestled in this peaceful part of the Dorset countryside, away from the humdrum of city and work life, we invite you to cut free from your daily routine to relax and enjoy time out.

Recently finished to complement the existing small hamlet of period properties, farm and mill cottages, Papilio Creek is made from Sherborne stone with an oak and glass entrance. Above, there is a rooftop terrace from which you can look down to the millstream lined with flag irises.

The cottage is a great place to explore the delights of the Dorset countryside and you will find hampers and wellies to hand to do so. To relax your muscles after a long walk in the countryside, head to one of the local and very popular pubs for a leisurely lunch or evening glass of wine.
