Introduction

Set down a private lime tree drive, this unique 17th century manor on the outskirts of Kempsford near Cirencester embraces English eccentricity with zeal. A giant disco ball refracts shimmering rainbows across the dining room, twisting succulents convolute over enormous windows, and deep, gem-like colours lead through hallways and into sensual bathrooms. A luxury self-catering manor with a steam-billowing hot tub and a wildflower meadow, Dandelion might scream rock ‘n’ roll down to the very last oversized candelabra, but it also packs a free-spirited punch.

Inside

Sophistication meets playfulness within Dandelion; window panes and frames painted sunshine yellow bring joy to early mornings in one of the bedrooms, bathroom tiles ombre from deep purple to baby pink and checkered floors give a sense of unabashed fun and joyous hedonism. A home of great elegance that has been roused by a life of thundering music, far-flung travel and fashion, each and every piece of artwork, sculpted item of furniture or memorabilia hanging on the wall has meaning, depth and soul behind its placement.

Outside

Seven acres of glorious grounds surround the Cotswold stone manor; spend spring mornings practicing yoga in the wildflower meadow, bleached summer days sipping cocktails in the walled garden, and starlit evenings cooking up a storm on the stone barbecue. Impossibly romantic for lovers and filled with adventure for children, spread picnic blankets under the giant chestnut trees for secret suppers, enlist in a family game of hide and seek, or hide in the wood-fired hot tub in the topiaries. If one must leave, there is a local pub within sauntering distance from the house (no designated driver necessary!).

From the owner

“Dandelion is a truly happy place for us; it´s where we come together as a family for celebrations and Sunday roast dinners. It holds the happiest of memories for my husband and I, as we hope it does for you too.”

From the owner

A traditional home for our far-less than traditional family, we have spent many happy afternoons eating together on the patio, as the children race around the gardens. Dandelion is our home, which we have weaved our own unique style throughout; we love it dearly.

The Red Lion is the local pub where we spend a lot of time together, both as a couple, with our children and with friends, and just a short drive from the house, meaning you don't need to go too far for delicious, locally sourced food.

Dandelion's gardens are nothing short of magical, but really come into their own when the golden light of late afternoon filters through the chestnut trees and through the wildflowers in the meadow. The addition of a romantic wood-fired hot tub brings even more enchantment into the grounds.

When we are at home, we spend lazy mornings drinking coffee and eating breakfast without haste. If we feel the need to stretch our legs, we might take a walk through the surrounding countryside, but to us, this home is our sanctuary and peace from the busy world which lies beyond the walls.
