From the owner

“Ancient mossy woods surround as you wind the Cornish country lanes towards Warleggan; there´s a definite ethereal feel to Pixie Nook´s setting. The wide-open spaces of the rugged moorland is breathtaking along with the wild ponies and highland cattle. While at Pixie Nook take in the exceptional dark skies and stargaze on a winter evening from the hot tub.”

From the owner

Our Grade II-listed moorland cottage offers a unique slice of Cornish life, nestled on the beautiful and rugged Bodmin Moor. We come here to escape and enjoy the moorland views, birdsong and a simple way of life, and we're never disappointed! Whatever the weather, you can guarantee that you'll leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and reinvigorated.

The rolling moorland is punctuated with dramatic granite tors, you can explore the highest point in Cornwall - Brown Willy which stands at an impressive 1378ft. The buildings and remote relics on the moor date back to medieval times and all reflect their granite origins. In contrast, the ancient woodlands that surround Warleggan provide lovely riverside walks; expect to see bluebells, wood anemones and foxgloves in the spring and early summer.

Like many parts of Cornwall, the moor is alive with myths and legends and the so-called beast of Bodmin Moor. Warleggan is a lovely hamlet with an interesting history. The church is famous for the former vicar, Frederick Densham, who preached to an empty church for more than 20 years after a fall-out with the residents! His life story inspired a book by Daphne Du Maurier, as well as a 2009 film, starring Edward Woodward.
