This luxury country house nestles in a bucolic location between the sister towns of Cirencester and Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, and is sure to win over sporty folk and bon vivants alike. Boasting all the hallmarks of a quintessentially English country home, Burcombe House is made of honeyed Cotswold stone and flaunts elegant interiors along with a tennis court and croquet lawn within its two acres of immaculate landscaped gardens.
Whether planning a wedding, large family gathering or lavish ladies weekend to celebrate the races, Burcombe House offers a fun-filled escape for all. With two acres of private gardens, this luxury homestay in the Cotswolds will be a nature lover's dream. Mirroring the things most beautiful in nature, the thoughtful interior design is immersed in symmetry, creating a balanced oasis of calm. The house sits near Cirencester in the pretty and pastoral village of Woodmancote where even the Queen has been known to enjoy tea with friends! Get the dainty finger sandwiches and iced cupcakes on order for your best British break yet; filled with frisky games of tennis, croquet on the lawn and garden tea parties every day.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
All the bedrooms continue the elegant, countrified theme up the stairs to the land of nod. There are two double bedrooms (one is a zip-and-link) with en suite bathrooms off the main landing, followed by a twin and two double bedrooms along the hall. The fifth and final double bedroom with en suite shower room sits at the end of the hall alongside the family bathroom. There is also a shower and WC next to the gym on the ground floor.
Two acres of glorious Eden-esque gardens set the scene for long summer days amongst the songbirds and the bumblebees. Tennis fans will love to work up a sweat on the large Euroclay court, neigh(!)boured by some rather long-faced, bushy-tailed spectators. Children can explore the treasure chest of garden games including croquet, boules, cricket stumps and table tennis, whilst grown-ups can keep watch reclined within the warmth of the honey-hued stone courtyard. Spend afternoons picking berries from the hedgerows to enjoy with clotted cream and chilled Champagne beneath the parasol. Country life will have never tasted so good!
For those who can tear themselves from the luxury of the house and grounds, a day’s moseying around Cheltenham or Cirencester will be a day well spent. These country-chic sister towns are teeming with style and spirit, best exemplified through their eclectic array of boutiques, tearooms and seriously good restaurants. Active relaxation reigns at Burcombe House, but there’s nothing better to top off a day of boutique shopping and sports than a soak in the bathtub and an evening cosied up by one of the three crackling fires.
The private drive provides ample space for six cars. Between the kitchen and the utility you'll find everything you need for your luxury self-catering country break including an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, tumble dryer, washing machine, freezer and two fridges.
