Balthazar

Chiddingfold, Surrey, UK

Rising from the ground in a statement of Georgian glory, this lavish manor house in Chiddingfold is the ultimate location for large celebratory gatherings in Surrey. Rotate from indoor swimming pool to hot tub to steam room in winter; and from the sun terrace to outdoor pool and lake in summer. Balthazar's modern take on traditional luxury creates the most magnificent mansion imaginable.

Introduction

Over the crest of a hill, down a sweeping drive and through open parkland filled with pheasants, Balthazar stands proud. Flanked by exceptionally manicured lawns and filled with glossy golden hues, this large self-catering home has pulled out all the stops to impress. The stairwell atrium floods the marble floors with natural light while the grand Roman-esque pool was created by film set designers. Also featuring an atmospheric cinema room, tennis court, entertainment wing and bowling alley, there is something to see and do at every turn. From family parties to weekends spent pampering with friends, Balthazar is as diverse as it is divine.

Inside

Boasting multi-generational appeal, this unique manor house has something for everyone, whatever the weather. As well as a host of indoor activities including a gym, table tennis and bowling, there is also a second kitchen and a treatment room, allowing guests to hire our highly recommended in-house spa therapists or chefs to cater for every whim. Ensuring luxury flows into the night, the first floor features five elegantly dressed king-size suites in total, while upstairs the second floor has four large four-poster bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes. Every bedroom at Balthazar has a ritzy en suite bathroom complete with rainfall shower.

Outside

With oodles of garden to explore, an outdoor pool and tennis court to work up a sweat in, there really is no need to leave the grounds of this stately manor. Recline in the sunken garden in the morning and watch birds come and go on the lake before cooking up a lunchtime storm for the masses on the barbecue. In the afternoon, sunbathe by the copper fountains before treating yourself to another dip. If you really must leave, you'll find the quintessential English village of Chiddingfold with its neat village green a mile down the road. From the owner

“There are so many special features to our glorious house such as the two swimming pools, tennis court, bowling alley and cinema, but our favourite room is the kitchen. For us this is the focal room of the house and where we enjoy our most special moments as a family.”

From the owner

As a property developer, Balthazar is my most recent house. It was built following the completion of Cornucopia which has provided both a home for my family, and for the past several years, a very popular property rented through Unique Home Stays.

Balthazar sits in 30 acres of rolling parkland and the house itself is of Georgian style with large sash windows which create natural light throughout. Having designed the house myself, I have combined traditional features like fireplaces and a wing backed oval staircase and with all the modern amenities to ensure an easier and more comfortable way of living.

Balthazar has already brought myself and my family an enormous amount of pleasure. Not only beautiful, we think it offers everything that a classic luxury home should provide.
