From the owner

“Wonderlands is our private home and only available a few select weeks throughout the year. Since we purchased it we have undertaken an interiors overhaul, restoring it to its former beauty with a modern twist. I hope guests will love it as much as we do!”

From the owner

Our Grade-II listed Arts & Crafts house built in 1920 during Sandwich Bay’s ‘golden era’. Designed by CD Biddulph Pinchard, it was built using a combination of Tudor materials, including two Dutch weaver’s cottages brought over from Holland, and a local Tudor barn.

Once a playground for London society, Sandwich Bay has a long history of famous visitors over the years who have sought the privacy and natural beauty of the Bay. The Restoratory offers both a ‘sea’ and ‘country’ experience in one, and is as much a Mecca for cyclists, bathers and birdwatchers as it is for golfers.

As a founding Cinque port, Sandwich has a rich historical legacy, and the surrounding areas certainly have plenty of history for visitors to explore. Beyond its traditional legacy however, East Kent has a vibrant set of communities well worth investigating. From the rejuvenated arts community of Margate’s old town, to Whitstable’s seaside food and drink - there really is something for everyone.

We had a really lovely stay at Wonderlands, thank you to all at Unique Homestays and to the owners of such a gorgeous house. We loved the artwork and decor - what a wonderful eye they have! Thank you again.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay! The cottage is so beautiful we’re not ready to go home yet! The decor is gorgeous and makes you feel really at home (I’ve picked up a few decorating tips for our house!) The Children have absolutely loved it, they have spent lots of time in the playroom and have made good use of their skateboards and heelies on the coastal path! We feel so relaxed, I’ve managed to finish a whole book while I was here which is unheard of. Cannot rate highly enough and would love to come back and would definitely recommend!

We have had a very relaxing week here. Thank you for the lovely hamper, drinking fizz on the beach is a lovely way to start a holiday! The house is fabulous, well equipped and comfortable. The playroom was very well used by our daughter. We will happily come back here again!

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We have had a fabulous time in this gorgeous house. The attention to detail has been great and we especially loved the lovely welcome hamper that was left on our arrival. The facilities for families have been perfect, especially with our 7 month baby. Thank you again.

It really is a fantastic location, it´s unusual to stay somewhere that is right on a beach and surrounded by countryside - huge skies, little sound except birdsong, great views along the coast. The property itself is stylish and interesting with the Arts and Crafts history etc. Francesca, Peter and the housekeeper Sarah were friendly and helpful
