Ten years ago, the sale of an enchanting wreck of Welsh stone cottages captured the imagination of a former local lady. With dreams of a life wearing dungarees and picking raspberries from the garden, she made the cross-country journey from London to attend its auction in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Realising her dreams, she bought the romantic ruins and renovated them to offer a luxury self-catering escape, far from the madding crowd.
