Introduction

If walls could talk, Huntlington House’s pointed gables and stone-mullions would tell tales of secret underground tunnels and partying royalty, prisoners of war and classrooms filled with science students. Now, this rural Worcestershire manor has put down its hard-working boots for the last time, entering its golden years where no luxury is spared and no desire too far-fetched. An indoor wellness area (including a pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub) allows guests to sink into a bliss far-removed from the everyday, while a maze and children’s climbing area ensure unlimited play in the gardens.

Inside

Modern at the touch but with many of its original features fording the foundations, history abounds at this grand celebration house; the wreckage of a 16th century galleon forms the entrance hall ceiling, original floorboards line the upper floors, while fireplaces which once warmed the Earl of Dudley some 300 years ago still roar on winter nights. A music room equipped with drumkit and leather sofas is sure to inspire late-night jam sessions between friends, while glittered skulls and antler chandeliers reside above mantelpieces, harking back to the manor's hunting lodge roots.

Outside

Twelve acres of garden and 18 of farmland surround this luxury home (once part of the Witley Court Estate), where whimsy and Alice in Wonderland-esque adventures go hand in hand. Skip through the topiary maze looking for white rabbits, watch shimmering dragonflies hover over the pond and laze on a blanket beneath the spring apple blossom of the orchard by moonlight, children safely tucked up in bed and under the supervision of loving grandparents. For the sports fans in the party, the tennis court will call for pre-breakfast doubles matches, while a stone pagoda offers a quiet sanctuary for delving into a novel.

From the owner

“For us, Huntlington House is the perfect place to enjoy all that Worcestershire has to offer, from the captivating rural views to welcoming village inns.”

From the owner

Waking up to look out across the grounds from the master bedroom window is our favourite way to start the day, while a peaceful swim in the heated pool is lovely with the morning sunshine flooding the room.

Walks at Huntlington House are particularly stunning with golden pathways wending from the house down to the small lake area. The garden turns into a rustic landscape that takes you through ancient trees and offers views of the Malvern Hills and beyond to the church-spired skyline of Worcester.

The house features beautiful 16th century reception rooms which are the perfect place to while away the evenings in. For us, the best evenings begin with a glass of wine in front of the fire in the main hall followed by an informal supper in the dining room, which has been likened to a James Bond movie setting.

The kitchen-lounge area is the real hub of our home, with plenty of room for the whole family to gather together, preparing evening meals or curling up to watch a film.

Guest Testimonials

The property was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful space to enjoy entertaining our large family. The standard of facilities exceeded all our expectations. The pool and spa area were enjoyed by all the family. The grounds were beautiful with so much space for the dogs to run around and we all explored the maze including the dogs! The unique style of décor was beautiful and the whole house was immaculately clean. We made full use of the beautiful roll-top baths in the bedrooms and each room had its own individual style...just stunning!

We stayed at Huntlington House to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary with close family and friends. The caterers were wonderful and the property contained everything we were looking for. The welcome we received was warm and friendly. We made some new and excellent memories while we were there.

What a fantastic stay! We walked around the surrounding countryside on a couple of days. Also went for Sunday lunch in a nearby village. We all loved the pool/hot tub/sauna/steam room. The terrace outside had lovely furniture to sit or lounge on, whilst taking in the amazing views. We cooked for ourselves most of the time but had a chef come in to cook a birthday dinner. He found the facilities were excellent. The walk-in refrigerator provided plenty of room to store our food and chill our wine. We really didn’t want to leave!

A superb house that provided the perfect location for 14 of us to celebrate the host’s major birthday. The property was very spacious and in a very private location. Everyone was blown away by the property, thank you.
