Sweetpea Cottage | Luxury Self-Catering | Kestle Mill, Cornwall

Sweetpea Cottage

Kestle Mill, Crantock, Cornwall, UK

Greeting guests with bumble bee door knocker and a white stone façade festooned in flowering wisteria, this luxury self-catering holiday cottage is as quintessential and quaint as they come. The traditional cottage interior has been sprinkled with lashings of vintage country glamour and, within close reach of Crantock beach on the north Cornwall coast, provides an idyllic base for self-catering baby-friendly breaks and romantic escapes.

Introduction

Sweetpea Cottage nestles in the ancient hamlet of Kestle Mill, a few miles from the wild surf and brown-sugar sands of Lusty Glaze, Porth and Crantock beach on the north Cornwall coast. Sweet by name and nature, this luxury cottage is as perfect for romantic weekends as it is for baby's first holiday. Enjoy the fresh interior and country-luxe style, and relish knowing little ones are made to feel just as at-home as you are with their very own nursery. Whether playing Scrabble by the fire or slipped under the bubbles of the roll-top, settle in and let your worries melt away.

Inside

It's the perfect imperfections that make Sweetpea Cottage so swoonsome; soft textures, botanical fabrics and cabinets of curious finds adorn the naturally wonky walls. Cleanse away a day on the beach in the ground floor bathroom before drying off beside the woodburner. After a soothing soak, it won't be long before thoughts turn to bed. Like a scene from The Princess and The Pea, the master bedroom boasts a king-size colonial bed, while next door is a beautifully decorated nursery with a large cot and origami cloud mobile hanging from above.

Outside

A Cornish take on classic Chelsea roof garden design, the petite walled courtyard plays host to a mix of chalky hues and soft planting - a dream spot for sunbathing. On those English rainy days, the sophisticated summerhouse is the perfect hideaway for a pot of tea and pile of Sunday papers. Saunter up the hill to Trerice, a romantic Elizabethan Manor House with fine interiors and enchanting gardens and challenge your partner to a game of badminton on the green. For small plates and cocktails by the waves, head down to Watergate Bay's newest and chicest eatery, Watchful Mary.

From the owner

We always dreamed of having a little cottage of our own one day, and when we saw Sweetpea Cottage, we just knew it was meant for us. It’s very obviously a much-loved home that has been beautifully and tenderly renovated.

We adore its quintessential Cornish charm and beauty, the perfect imperfections are what makes it so endearing and gives us the peaceful haven we were looking for.

We are delighted that so many other people can enjoy our home too and know it’s just a wonderful cosy retreat to find some peace and quiet, and from where to explore the very special things Cornwall has to offer.
