Introduction

Edenvale promises a luxury self-catering escape enveloped in the best of Cumbrian countryside. Hugging a hillside in Ambleside's Great Langdale valley, this unique family holiday home is drenched in colour and set amidst scenery that has inspired artists for centuries. Forever immortalised in Wordsworth's famous Daffodils poem, the Lake District transports visitors back in time to the place that sparked the Romantic movement - the lucky few may even discover those 10,000 daffodils still dancing in the breeze.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Elegantly dressed in fine linens and Designer's Guild florals, each of the five bedrooms include lavish en suites with heated marble floors. The master and second bedroom are both super king, featuring panoramic mountain views, double-ended baths and walk-in showers. Bedroom three's pewter bath is the crowning glory of this super king-size suite, with bedroom four's copper tub just as perfect for long soaks after scaling the Lake District's formidable peaks. The fifth bedroom flaunts an inviting king-size bed and luxurious en suite shower room.

Outside

Edenvale's acre of terraced gardens lead to wildflower meadows and the open fells beyond. The grassy carpet by the gurgling stream offers an idyllic picnic spot for grown-ups to enjoy tea and Kendal mint cake whilst children make daisy chains, toes dangled in the fresh water. With mountainous views over the mysterious cloud-shrouded Langdale Pikes and Crinkle Crags, Edenvale boasts the most impressive of backdrops for summer barbecues on the patio. There's also a local inn and village shop within walking distance, meaning guests can enjoy the whole holiday on foot.

For Relaxation

The Lake District is a walker's paradise and with an extensive network of stunning trails from the doorstep, Edenvale sits in prime position for exploration. Lace up the walking boots after a hearty breakfast and head to Wasdale Head or Seathwaite to begin an epic hike to the summit of Scafell Pike, England's tallest mountain. Hire bikes from Grizedale and carve your way through forests and fells on a guided tour, or set your own pace on a family adventure into the wilderness. With Coniston Water, Grasmere and Windermere each just a short drive away; swim, ski or sail your way across the glacial lakes for an exhilarating day on the water.

Practicalities

The cook's kitchen is well-equipped, with two Gaggeneau ovens, an induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge, freezer, coffee machine, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is parking on the drive for up to six cars.
