Introduction
Subtle seaside chic meets flawless class at this family beach house in Mawgan Porth. Settled into the same cliff as one of Cornwall's most luxurious Ayurvedic spas, guests can enjoy seaweed wraps and hot stone massages by day, before padding home for exclusive seclusion. Saphir Beach House was designed with a life outside in mind and, with steps leading straight from the garden to the beach, there really is no need to venture too far. After a morning of playing in the revitalising surf and dozing on the sand, this sprawling coastal retreat be a true sanctuary.
Inside
Simple and timeless, Saphir Beach House is awash with cool blues and fresh whites, mimicking the breakers below on Mawgan Porth beach. Invitingly carefree and with eyes facing out to sea from each room, this luxury self-catering clapboard home embraces bare feet and salty hair with natural enthusiasm. Spend days exploring and when the weather shifts, soft feathers, thick sheepskins and sink-into sofas provide a comforting hideaway from winter storms. Promising all a restful sleep, up the stairs are four bedrooms, all with sweeping sea views, of course.
Outside
Go in search of giants with a 30-minute hike along the South West Coast Path to Bedruthan Steps. Fabled to be the steppingstones of the fearsome giant Bedruthan, the enormous sea stacks offer breathtaking views. After traversing the steep climb down to the beach and back up again, stop in the National Trust café for a slab of cake worthy of any giant and wander back for an evening settled in your hot tub overlooking Mawgan Porth beach. When hunger growls, fire up the outdoor kitchen barbecue and serve a feast under the glitter of festoon lights. As skies darken, huddle around the fire pit, mulled apple juice warming on the flames.

From the owner
“Saphir Beach House´s enviable position on top of the cliff ensures that the views are outstanding 365 days a year. From stunning summer days to winter storms rolling in from the Atlantic, each day, minute and hour here is different!”

For many years we visited Mawgan Porth for weekends or holidays, loving the area and dreaming of how we could buy a coastal property here to enjoy it more with our family.
After years of admiring Saphir Beach House, we were very fortunate to be able to buy the property in 2015. Ever since, we have stayed whenever possible throughout the year with our three boys, and enjoyed the difference of each Cornish season.
The village of Mawgan Porth is a truly unique beach-side location with its stunning beach, coastal walks and proximity to some of the best coastal restaurants in the UK. The beach is dog-friendly all year round and most local restaurants and pubs welcome your four-legged friends.
I am sure you will enjoy Saphir Beach House no matter what time of year you visit. The views of the beach and the surf with the occasional pod of dolphins passing the bay are awe-inspiring!

Guest Testimonials
The property was amazing and in an excellent location with excellent facilities. The view was incredible and we absolutely love this part of Cornwall- it feels like a home away from home!
We have had a brilliant time here and have especially loved the house and the views. We’ve been on some lovely walks and some windy, wild and hilly bike rides! We will definitely be back in the warmer months! Thank you!
A great time was had by all, helped by a fabulous location and good weather. A couple of walks along the coastal path to Padstow aided by the local bus which conveniently stops at various points along the way! The sun is shining again and we are definitely sad to leave! Thank you.
We´ve had a fabulous week in an absolutely beautiful home, thank you so much. Despite some wild Cornish weather, we are happy to say that we shall definitely return… most likely in the summer! Thanks again.
We had a week to find somewhere last minute and have stayed with Unique Homestays before, so logged onto the site to look. It was very last minute, however, the team were incredibly helpful and within 12 hours we stepped into paradise. The views over Mawgan Porth and the headland could not have been better. As well as the main kitchen there’s an outdoor kitchen with all you could want! Early evenings in the hammock with a book watching the sunset were bliss. Thank you Unique Homestays team for what turned out to be our best Cornish holiday yet.
Fabulous week in your amazing house. The weather was a little wet and wild which made for brilliant views of the sea! We managed to tear ourselves away for a few beach walks and pub lunches but happily headed back to the cosy fire to warm up! Such a lovely place to share some quality, relaxing time together as a family. We’ve got lots of happy memories to look back on. Thanks for sharing your little piece of Cornish heaven with us.
We have had a very peaceful and relaxing stay in your beautiful holiday home. The weather has been record breaking – sun bathing in February! The views are amazing and always changing, thank you!
You are very fortunate indeed to have such a wonderful property situated here overlooking this land and seascape. The house is so comfortable, and in our short stay we have enjoyed many cliff and beach walks, lunch at Rick Steins, purchasing goodies in Padstow and now have lots of lovely memories to look back on. Big thanks to you for sharing your gorgeous home!
