Luxury self-catering accommodation in South East Cornwall
Cornwall's southern coastline draws a feathered line from the rolling Tamar, trailing in and out of idyllic creeks and opening out onto sandy coves.
Family holidays to this corner of Cornwall revolve around the beach, the leafy cliff walks, and plenty of tasty cream teas. Take the small pirates on a bucket-and-spade adventure through the hidden caves and coves that dot this peaceful stretch of coast. Fishing ports and tiny towns provide perfect stop-offs when it's time for a wrap of fish and chips or a pasty. Falmouth is a major port with plenty of boutique shops and festivals throughout the year and picturesque Polperro has a small sandy beach, pubs and a bakery, so it's perfect for a peaceful day trip.
Fowey has serious maritime history, with sweet cottages stacked above the harbour, gulls wheeling overhead, and secluded Readymoney Cove playing host to picnicking crowds. This area is associated with lauded author Daphne Du Maurier, who wrote her first novel while living in a house perched on the cliff; take a coastal walk and see if you can spot it. As for historic houses, climb Restormel's ancient castle walls for spectacular views, or explore the beautiful rooms and gardens at Lanhydrock, before treating yourselves to a slice of cake in the restaurant.
