This luxury self-catering boathouse with private mooring overlooks the serene waters of Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park and boasts some of the most enviable vistas imaginable. The Osprey, Luxury Boathouse on Lake Windermere

Proudly sitting on the banks of Lake Windermere, this unique luxury stone boathouse with private mooring benefits from being one of the few inhabited properties along this much sought-after exclusive stretch of the lake. The fusion of stylish interiors and luxurious fittings create a most note-worthy lake house perfect for family self-catering boating holidays and romantic getaways alike. The light and airy open-plan living area opens out to a duo of balconies which overhang the lake and truly make the most of the ethereal setting.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Both of the en suite bedrooms lead off from the main central living area and offer sumptuous beds, fine linens and views across the water. The double room with king-size bed has en suite bathroom with stand alone bath tub, whilst the twin room has a large walk-in shower room and a uniquely curved wall of glass blocks which creates a pampering haven to write home about. An uninterrupted night's sleep is guaranteed!

Approaching the gated entrance to The Osprey, the promise of what is to come will incite the prickle of goosebumps in even the most well-travelled guest. This luxury self-catering boathouse is situated on the widest stretch of Lake Windermere and boasts a beautiful sunny south westerly aspect, with views which extend across the water to a back drop of wooded fells and mountains beyond. The peaceful waterfront location means that the only disturbance at your otherwise idyllic sanctuary will be hearing the ducks land upon the water, and the gentle tinkling of boat masts in summertime.

For Relaxation

For the best seat in the house, grab a fresh morning coffee and your well-thumbed copy of Swallows and Amazons, before sitting back and simply enjoying the tranquility of the lake from your choice of private balcony. Fisherfolk and yachty types will be spoiled for choice with the plethora of on-the-water activities on offer, whilst bookworms will delight in visiting the area where both Arthur Ransome and Beatrix Potter took their literary inspiration. Winter eves are best spent snuggled up by the fire enjoying a mulled wine and hot buttered crumpets.

There is off-road parking for up to three cars. There is a washing machine and tumble dyer within the entrance hall area.

A site of Special Scientific Interest due to its international importance as a wetland, nearby Esthwaite Water has a large population of wild birds. Look out for Mr McGregor! Go Ape  Grizedale tree top adventure is a popular day out for adrenalin junkies and adventure enthusiasts alike. Built on a side of a hill, it feels seriously high. And that's because it is. You'll fly 200 metres across the top of the Grizedale Beck and marvel at the forest canopy 18 metres up a magnificent Douglas Fir. Not for the faint-hearted!
