Stargazer is a luxury self-catering home perfect for families who are looking for an idyllic Devonshire holiday between moor and sea. This beautifully-appointed modern home is situated in the historic town of Modbury in Devon's South Hams where golden beaches and long country walks will be top of the agenda. Boasting a quirky octagonal swimming pool and play room with table tennis, there's plenty to keep everyone entertained whatever the weather!
Surrounded by rolling hills, wooded glades and winding country lanes, the bustling town of Modbury in South Devon has a vibrant independent feel where artists, creatives and local producers thrive. Stargazer is positioned along a quiet road at the top of the hill leading out of the town, a self-catering home stay with swimming pool benefiting from far-reaching views across the valley from the back garden which is the perfect spot for stargazing and sundowners.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
There are three beautiful double bedrooms and a characterful twin room; the master king-size bedroom has a spacious en suite bathroom with bath, separate shower and jack-and-jill sinks, whilst the second king-size bedroom has an en suite shower room with walk-in shower. There is also a ground floor shower room. The additional double bedroom and twin room share a family bathroom with a bath tub. Each bedroom is furnished beautifully with striking artwork providing added interest for the eye and luxury linens promising a blissful slumber until morn.
The quirky-shaped pool (open from the first May bank holiday until September) and outdoor relaxation area will be a favourite spot for sunbathing and catching up on that reading list in summer months, whilst little ones will enjoy bouncing off excess energy on the trampoline before reluctantly being called in for supper. After a day combing the shores of nearby Mothecombe or Wonwell beaches, retire to the patio area with your coastal 'treasures' and begin a scrap book of your perfect Devonshire holiday to be remembered for years to come.
The rugged tors and shaggy-haired ponies of Dartmoor are not far from Stargazer, so don't forget to pack the walking boots and enjoy some exploration in 'the wilds' of South Devon. It's just a short walk down the hill into Modbury with its welcoming pubs and friendly cafes, whilst nearby Bantham, Mothecombe and Wembury are a short drive away and perfect for those who have always wanted to try their hand at 'hanging ten' on the crest of the waves!
There is parking for two cars in the garage and additional cars can park on the residential street. The stylish modern kitchen is fully-equipped with oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the utility room. Please note that the pool can take longer to heat up depending on the temperature outside.

Property Owner Genesta says
After a day at the beach we like nothing better than returning home to sit by the pool with a glass of something cold and refreshing. Later we love sitting in the summerhouse watching the sunset over the spire while very amateur games of croquet take place.

FOOD AND DRINK
Without doubt the heart of the home, the whole family can get involved in whipping up a storm in the contemporary kitchen where you'll find a combi oven and all mod cons. Fling open the doors of the open-plan kitchen-diner which lead directly onto the decking for al fresco suppers and light lunches in the sunshine.
If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
There are several welcoming inns down the hill in Modbury itself serving up traditional pub grub- a 5 minute walk (perhaps a little more on the way back up!). Salcombe is just 15 minutes away where you will find plenty of eateries and fine dining opportunities among the sailing fraternity who favour this sailing Mecca . The New Angel, Dartmouth, is around half an hour from the house and highly recommended.
