The Sanctuary marries New Forest country style with upstate New York cabin culture to offer a unique self-catering couples’ retreat in rural Hampshire. In keeping with its former use as an art studio-cum-workshop, this inspired bolthole oozes industrial style. Lofty beamed ceilings hang with exposed element lighting, softened by washed linens and natural textures. Whether unfurling within the rough luxe interiors or soaking up the romantic ambience of the fairy-light festooned garden with hot tub, this home has it all.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Both bath and bed-time are guaranteed to be an extraordinarily chic affair in this sleeps-two sanctuary of style. Reclaimed red brick and petrol blue walls stretch from the wooden floorboards right up to the vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom, which flaunts a stunning piece of hand-crafted metalwork in its super king-size four poster bed. Next door in the bathroom, a zinc copper tub sits on monochrome Bert and May tiles and features a large overhead rainfall shower.

Throw open the huge bi-fold doors and enjoy a pot of coffee under the pergola before a spot of barefoot yoga on the lawn - Freda in the village offers private bespoke tuition. Local pheasants provide the most entertainment in the tranquil garden, only rivalled by the sight of shy deer playing in the stream behind the shady oak tree. With a warm outdoor shower, fire pit and Jacuzzi hot tub, couples will love to while away afternoons in the privacy of this al fresco living space.

For Relaxation

Take a morning to enjoy the the hustle and bustle of Lymington's traditional Georgian Saturday street market. You'll also find the ferry terminal for the Isle of Wight here (a half hour crossing), or charter a yacht and sail there yourself! Take advantage of the Townie Cruiser bicycles provided and peddle down to the beach at Milford on Sea, or cruise to Keyhaven where creeks and inlets form a beautiful natural harbour - don't forget to pick up some New Forest chocolates from the pop up farm shop here, the perfect accompaniment to a cosy evening by the woodburner.

There's ample parking for three cars on the driveway. The utilitarian style kitchen features an oven, induction hob, artisan coffee machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer, with a washer dryer in the laundry room. Ducks and chickens can be spotted by the stream, for the safety of your dog we request that you exercise due diligence as the garden is not fully enclosed.
