All this, and a luxury architectural base camp.
Base Camp
A true oasis of serenity, Senara's clean lines and calming hues make it the ideal backdrop for a rejuvenative wilderness-meets-wellness experience. At base, there's enough luxurious facilities to keep self-care at the top of the list, with authentic Scandinavian vibes setting the scene for a home whose fundamentals embody chic beach house living. Wall-to-wall white reflects the waves crashing on the horizon, when it's time to wind down you'll find yourself immersed in mesmeric landscapes.
The Experience
It's the bespoke itinerary that makes this retreat so restorative: from beachfront yoga to packrafting, freediving to functional training sessions led by an SAS operator and calisthenics coach, and coastal abseiling under the guidance of a ropes specialist. Come evening, sink into the hot tub, do laps in the garden pool, or have a detoxifying session in the sauna before watching the moon rise from behind the sea, retreats at Senara put true wilderness experiences at your fingertips.
The Fare
Even the menu has been rewilded: backwoods-style seasonal fare with imaginative flair will be prepared by sustainable-approach chefs in the outdoor kitchen. From beach campfire breakfasts to "eat what you catch" seafood foraging, you'll be immersed in the freshest of local fodder during the retreat. Days that commence with herbal fusions will end with fireside group mindfulness practices and wild cocktails. Here, crystal bowl sound baths before dinner are par for the course.
The Facts
- Bedrooms and bathroomsThere are six bedrooms at the property. On the ground floor there is one bedroom with super king-size bed and en suite shower room, two with zip-and-link beds (one king and one super king-size), plus one further bedroom with king-size bed and en suite shower room available on prior request. The family bathroom with circular bath and shower is also on this floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms with king-size beds and en suite shower rooms. The external annexe includes a super king-size bed, shower room and kitchen.

Gwithian

Getting there
- On the Map This large self-catering property is located just a mile inland from Gwithian Beach, on the north coast of Cornwall near St Ives.
- By Car The house is around three hours from Bristol and five from London
- By Train Both Camborne and Hayle train stations are ten minutes away in either direction, both with regular services to London and beyond.
- By Air Newquay airport is around 45 minutes away, with car hire and taxis available (best booked in advance).

We love to spend as much time outdoors as we possibly can when we stay at Senara. From surfing to yoga, morning swims and evening saunas, we make the most of the house and setting whatever the weather.
We know how relaxed and rejuvenated we feel after staying, and the opportunity for others to really immerse themselves in all that we find special about this part of Cornwall was something that really appealed to us when it came to hosting retreats at our home.
Working with a team of specialists meant that we were able to combine our love of well-being pursuits with more adrenalin-fuelled activities that took us outside of our comfort zones; we found these new experiences invigorating and challenging in equal measure!
The considered approach to the whole retreat - from breakfast through to sunset makes for a truly immersive experience. The focus on local, seasonal fare affords an appreciation of all that we have to enjoy on our doorstep; catching and preparing our dinner was a real experience for the children, you can't get much fresher than that!
