Get together with favourite cousins and grandparents for a seasonal family gathering at this exclusive luxury holiday barn in the Cornish village of Golant. Willow Moon is pastoral perfection, set in the very fold of the Fowey estuary that inspired Kenneth Grahame’s enchanting children’s novel The Wind in The Willows.
Willow Moon is tucked away down a long country drive near the stylish maritime town of Fowey and comprises two sumptuous dwellings; the large main house and a separate honeymooner's barn. Starting life as a secluded scattering of agricultural buildings belonging to the local manor at Golant, Willow Moon underwent a tender restoration to reach the perfect balance of a classic yet modern barn conversion. Luxurious furnishings set against cream stone walls and exposed wood beams offer a timeless and supremely cosy abode for luxury family holidays in Cornwall.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The main house sleeps eight, whilst the sleeps-two barn is perfect for grandparents or couples within the group. There is a super king-size bedroom downstairs (with en suite bathroom and stand-alone shower) along with a twin and two king-size bedrooms upstairs, one of which has an en suite shower room. The topsy-turvy design means the family bathroom sits with the huge sitting room on the first floor. Parents who let bedtime routines go out the window on holiday will love the fact they can leave the children watching a family classic and retire down to the cushiony master suite on the ground floor for some undisturbed chill time...
Willow Moon sits in three acres of lush gardens, including a pretty courtyard and Moroccan-style barbecue area. Oodles of space make it easy to get lost amidst the endless beauty of this sensational country home in Golant. Follow the garden path up through the wild meadow to reach the beautiful garden house which boasts views over the rolling countryside towards the sparkling Fowey estuary. From the spaceship-like biomes of the Eden Project to the grand stately homes and tiny fishing villages dotted all around the area, it's easy to immerse yourself in the vibrancy of Cornwall with a luxury break in its sought-after south-eastern corner.
Whilst the children enjoy games of hide and seek and skip through the meadow earnestly trying to catch sight of Toad, Ratty, Badger and Mole, adults can idle away afternoons however they please. Whether it's baking home-made granola in the country kitchen or reading summer romances on the sun loungers, Willow Moon gives grown-ups the chance to catch up on all the simple pleasures that the whirlwind of daily life all too often ignores. The separate games room includes a top-of-the-range Apple TV with projector, so don't forget to squeeze a movie night into the holiday agenda too (and some Cornish ice cream for the interval).
Willow Moon is wonderfully equipped, including a dishwasher, American fridge freezer, electric oven with induction hob and a washer-dryer. The country lane is bumpy. There is parking for up to four cars in the private courtyard.

FOOD AND DRINK
The lofty country kitchen is on the ground floor and exudes a homely feel. From the slate floor to the industrial pendant lighting and huge farmhouse table, Willow Moon really knows how to do 'farmhouse cool'. Fresh breakfast spreads and rustic suppers are best served up Jamie Oliver-style, in big serving dishes for the whole family to tuck in and help themselves.
If you’d rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
Foodies will be spoilt for choice with the maritime town of Fowey just around a fifteen minute drive away. There is fine dining in boutique hotel restaurants and more relaxed bistros, cosy pubs and quirky seaside tearooms aplenty! The owners personally recommend Trenython Manor (a 15-20 minute walk up the hill), Fowey Hall, Sam's and The Old Quay House.
