From country retreats inspired by 1970s Soviet sci-fi cinema to striking coastal hideaways originally built to defend Napoleonic forces, these are our most architecturally acclaimed dwellings. Expect 360-degree sea views, glass-fronted façades, sculptural staircases, indoor swimming pools, colossal ceilings and materials chosen as much for their aesthetic as their sustainability. Every property in the collection tells its own story of innovation and artistry, inviting guests to inhabit spaces that challenge convention.

Amongst our architect-designed holiday homes, you’ll find only award-winning projects from celebrated names. There’s a house in the Cotswolds that won the RIBA National Award for cleverly juxtaposing a listed cottage with a contemporary open-plan space, complete with floor-to-ceiling glass and fair-faced concrete interiors. Or, there’s an 18th century creation by John Nash – architect to the Prince Regent. Set by the River Dart in Devon, this grand Italianate manor was inspired by paintings of the Roman countryside.
