This charming luxury coastal barn started life as a piggery before the owners bestowed upon it the gift of new life and transformed Forelle into an idyllic self-catering holiday barn. Forelle is beautifully furnished with a characterful rustic country style throughout and boasts easy access to some of the country's top surf spots; Holywell Bay, Fistral and Perran Sands.
Forelle is the perfect coastal self-catering retreat for families and couples alike. The open plan 'L'-shaped kitchen-diner opens out into the courtyard and garden beyond, whilst the 'topsy-turvy' nature of this welcoming home means that the sitting room maximises the far-reaching views across the orchard to the golden sand dunes of Holywell Bay. There's nothing cosier than snuggling up watching movies after a day stomping the Cornish cliff paths.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Treating yourself to a lazy breakfast in bed whilst watching the children play in the garden through the French doors of the king-size master en suite bedroom is nothing short of wonderful. Through the open plan kitchen-diner area around the foot of the 'L' sits the cosy twin room; perfect for children who enjoy nattering into the wee hours with no fear of disturbing grown ups! As well as the master en suite, there is also a shower room adjacent to the twin bedroom to ensure that everyone can enjoy some peaceful pampering.
The joyful abundance of wild flowers, olive trees and colourful pots which adorn the beautiful established gardens make you feel more like you are in Tuscany than Cornwall. The first floor living room opens out onto a wraparound decked balcony with glass balustrade, where far-reaching vistas and romantic sundowners can be enjoyed with nothing to disturb but the distant crashing of the waves. When the branches are heavily-laden, spend an afternoon gathering the juiciest of fruits from the ancient orchard at the bottom of the gardens - homemade crumble has never tasted so good!
Forelle boasts enviable surroundings; from the beautiful orchard garden to the long country walks from the doorstep and plenty of opportunities for sunny family picnics sat under the ancient fruit trees, there's something for everyone. It is just a short walk to the olde worlde Cornish village of Cubert where there is a beautiful Medieval church, as well as an olde worlde thatched pub serving home-cooked meals and a bevy of local ales and ciders. The surf capital of the UK is only five miles away.
There is ample parking for up to three cars. This charming Cornish home is well-equipped with a dishwasher, oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine and underfloor heating.

I actually visited this property whilst being filmed for Caroline Quentin´s ´Cornwall´ TV show, which was quite an experience! My favourite bit about Forelle is the close proximity to the beaches; just a gentle amble through the field and you´re at the seaside, idyllic!

FOOD AND DRINK
When the owner is in town she often drops by with a surprise basket of delicious breakfast items so that you can enjoy a deliciously hearty start to the day, Cornish style! The hedgerows in this corner of Cornwall are dotted with farms selling eggs, honey, homemade cider and locally grown vegetables so you're never far from the freshest of produce.
If you'd rather spend your break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
The 16th century Smuggler's Den Inn is at the end of the road and is renowned for its impressive menu as well as a great selection of local ales and wines. Nearby Offshore Bar & Bistro is a great choice for tasty dishes, or a short coastal drive takes you to the foodie mecca of Padstow.
