Tempting, don’t you think?

Luxury self-catering cottage in Devon

Nestled within the wilds of rugged Dartmoor amongst a sprinkling of ancient farmsteads, rustic cosy pubs and natural beauty spots sits this gorgeous grade-II listed thatch, the last in a trio of chocolate box cottages tucked down a private country lane in the pretty village of Drewsteignton near Chagford. Sojourn offers romantic self-catering spa breaks with a difference (just take a peek at the treatment list)! What could possibly be more romantic than your own hideaway haven with a secret garden and luxury spa room for two?

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Up the little cottage stairs sits the dreamily elegant double bedroom complete with king-size bed, lavish linens and cloudsoft pillows. Adjacent lies the light-filled shower room with basin and vintage WC. Along the corridor is the cherry on the top of this sweet-as-pie thatch cottage, the luxury spa room; in here you'll find a luxurious deep copper slipper bath, perfect for a long steamy soak by flickering candlelight with a classic novel in hand after the day's adventures.

Scoff scones and champagne on the swing chair or in the flower house (a bespoke Chelsea Flower Show buy) and relax to the sound of the trickling water fountain. Watch the gardens burst into a riot of colour during spring, with lush blooms and high walls they have real secret garden feel. Dartmoor is a dream in summertime; ponies graze the hedgerows and streams trickle into crystal clear pools, making little watering holes for the wild deer and cottontail bunnies. The landscape really comes into its own during winter, when snow falls over the moorland like a scene from Narnia. The silent starry sky is just magical (and offers a perfect opportunity for that unique proposal)!

For Relaxation

Sojourn is a haven for romance and relaxation. Following a day's rambling, picnicking and wild swimming on Dartmoor, finish up with a delicious supper at Gidleigh Park or one of the critically-acclaimed country pubs nearby. With tired legs and full tummies, retreat back to the cottage, strike up the fire and prepare for an evening of bliss. The spa room even has a massage table, so (at a little extra cost) you can even book the village's expert Thai therapist to visit for the ultimate at-home pamper experience.

There is courtyard parking, with a private walkway to the cottage. Sojourn has a Rangemaster, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, champagne fridge, freezer and washing machine. The dryer is in the boot room.
