Introduction

Wrey Mist is an authentic pared-back bolthole studded within 100 private acres of Dartmoor’s wilderness near the charming villages of Lustleigh and North Bovey. Bearing the heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales above the main farmhouse door, this former stable turned luxury self-catering cottage sits amongst a delightful old farmstead with picturesque views of wooded river valleys. Snuggled in a peaceful cobbled courtyard, Wrey Mist is arranged around the distinctive central ‘pound’, a rare feature once used to hold cattle before grazing. Make cherished memories in rural Devon at this romantic couples’ retreat in the rugged dreamscape of Dartmoor National Park.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The king-size double bedroom sits on the ground floor with floor-to-ceiling windows flaunting views across the cobbled courtyard. Layered in crisp white linens, sumptuous throws and plumped pillows, couples will love nothing more than cocooning in this cosy love nest. Step into the luxury en suite shower room for steamy showers post wilderness walks, where underfloor heating ensures the toastiest of toes.

Outside

Occupying an idyllic spot in 100 acres of grounds, a portcullis archway invites couples to lose themselves within Wrey Mist's bucolic beauty. Great British walks start immediately from the small boot room; in springtime, spot wild Dartmoor ponies grazing, run through leafy woodland and enjoy gourmet picnics in buttercup-filled meadows. In colder months, pack a map and compass and tread through magical snow-cloaked fields. Watch a winter sunrise over the soaring granite tors, casting mysterious shadows over the landscape which inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s, The Hound of the Baskervilles.

For Relaxation

Wrey Mist is a haven for romance and relaxation. Following a blissful night’s sleep, spend refreshing mornings on the private patio with a coffee and plate of hot buttered crumpets, take a wander across the courtyard and indulge in 360 degrees of breath-taking scenery over Lustleigh Cleave. Lovebirds can spend the day hand in hand, discovering Dartmoor’s untamed beauty until the fog rolls in, when Wrey Mist will be sure to lure couples home for an evening of romantic bliss. Hunker down next to the roaring woodburner and retell the local myths fired by Dartmoor’s mystical landscape.

Practicalities

A well-equipped, modern kitchen forms part of the open-plan living area on the first floor, with family size fridge freezer, double oven, ceramic hob and a dishwasher. There's ample parking on the driveway. A laundry room can be found in a separate outbuilding.
