Introduction

Stitched between pastoral hills, flowing rivers and rolling Dorset countryside in the village of Ryall, Theodora's Cottage is a quintessential luxury self-catering cottage idyllically set near the coast within a designated AONB. A traditional white stone façade and treacle-toned thatched roof conceal the glamorous flourishes of the designer interiors within. This romantic dog-friendly cottage promises a truly tranquil escape for adventure-loving couples (and four-legged friends) yearning to explore the Jurassic Coast and bucolic beauty that this pocket of Dorset has to offer.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The duo of king-size double bedrooms bring the outdoors in with nature-inspired interiors. Sumptuous linens and designer fabrics breathe luxury into these stylish love nests, promising a peaceful night’s sleep and a chirpy start the next morning. Daybreak greets guests with views over the walled cottage garden; the master flaunting panoramic vistas over Marshwood Vale and the other enjoying glimpses of Dorset’s rural countryside. Both bedrooms sit on the top floor and share a bathroom. The bath has a hand-held shower attachment but the sloped cottage ceiling restricts standing showers, so there's your excuse for a luxurious soak every night!

Outside

Nestled within a designated AONB in West Dorset, Theodora's Cottage affords mesmeric green views at every compass point. The nearby timeless harbour of West Bay and iconic fossil-laden cliffs of the Jurassic World Heritage Coast are famous as the backdrop for popular ITV drama Broadchurch and well worth a visit. After a day’s exploring, the cottage garden is neatly lawned and landscaped, showcasing oak-framed beds filled with fragrant flowers, scented herbs and pruned plants frequented by the local butterflies. Wander amongst the luscious greenery and make a wish in the secret old well hidden in the bottom of the garden.

For Relaxation

Start the morning with a revitalising coastal stomp to Dorset's Golden Cap and enjoy the magical sunrise views from the highest vantage point on the South Coast. Whether relaxing in the secluded sunshine-filled garden gazing into the cloud formations, bird spotting with a pot of tea and Sunday paper, or listening to the crowing pheasants at dusk and dawn, holidays at Theodora's Cottage let you indulge in the tranquil atmosphere of country living at its finest! In colder months, curl up alongside the wood burner with a warming mug of marshmallow-topped hot chocolate following your adventures in Dorset’s countryside.

Practicalities

Theodora's Cottage provides parking for three cars. The kitchen is fully-equipped with integrated dishwasher, fridge and freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, food processor, microwave and 17-bottle wine cooler. The laundry room provides a washing machine and tumble dryer. Some very tame pheasants may visit during your stay, but we hope you consider this part of the charm!

Our Take

Property Owner Carrie says

Having travelled far and wide, we love returning home to our little sanctuary of peace and quiet. To awake to the sound of Pheasants calling and birds singing is a joy! Sipping tea on the patio and watching the sun rise high over the Marshwood Vale in the distance is a great way to start the day.
