A golden cornfield backing onto miles of rolling countryside provides the ambrosial setting for this luxury woodland cabin near Long Melford in Suffolk. Tickety-Boo incorporates thoughtful design elements and eco-friendly features to offer a modern country retreat immersed in a scene of rural bliss. Wake to wild hares, birds and deer scampering through the corn and drift off to sleep with the comforting hoot of the owls.
Tickety-Boo takes its name from a charming local saying and, as the name suggests, everything here is certainly "Tickety-Boo"! The luxury woodland cabin is located just two hours from London near Long Melford and Lavenham in Suffolk, making it an ideal weekend retreat for those in need of some clean air and country antics. Tickety-Boo’s timber façade blends into the natural backdrop seamlessly whilst, at the same time, contrasts with the sharply modish interiors - a perfect example of contemporary country style.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Floor-to-ceiling windows mean bird watching can continue from under the luxury linens of the king-size bed to the breakfast table, which both flaunt views over the fields as far as the eye can see. The en suite has a WC and walk-in shower with monsoon rain rose overhead, promising an invigorating start to the day no matter how long the lie-in... Soft grey Moroccan tiles complete the look, ensuring that even bathing will be a stylish affair at this designer wood cabin.
Guests will love to immerse themselves into the charming local communities. Long Melford was voted 7th most desirable village in Britain by Savills and boasts the longest high street in England (at 2.5 miles long!) along with two romantic Tudor mansions. Lavenham on the other hand is a classical English market town celebrated for its medieval half-timbered cottages and Harry Potter fame. Indulge in a smorgasbord of gourmet delights sourced from the farm shops and roadside food stalls; pick up a bottle of English wine on a vineyard tour of Giffords Hall to enjoy alongside a cheese board from Sudbury market. Tickety-Boo’s American-style deck will be the perfect spot for summertime suppers.
The pace of life is slow and calm at Tickety-Boo. With a network of footpaths accessible from the doorstep, it’s easy to get lost amidst the beauty of the Suffolk countryside. Couples will love to spend evenings snuggled up by the fire pit toasting marshmallows and sipping mugs of cocoa. Embrace the divine simplicity of the al fresco life as you watch owls swoop overhead and bask in the soft glow of the moonlight, all before tumbling into the king-size bed for an early night.
There is parking for one car on the driveway, just off the owner's drive next door. The modern kitchen features an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and icebox. The garden is not enclosed and leads onto farmland.

The best features are the views surrounding Tickety-Boo across the open fields, seeing the deer scamper around, the hares boxing and the wild birds gliding by (depending on the season). We love watching the skies constantly changing with the weather. It is ever so peaceful and tranquil!

FOOD AND DRINK
Tickety-Boo is small but perfectly formed. The open-plan kitchen dining area is perfect for couples, who can enjoy some 'us' time whilst cooking up a storm. Just two miles away is Willow Tree farm shop, providing everything you could wish for from a farm shop including high quality meat, cheese, fruit and veg as well as fresh fish from the fishmonger on Saturday mornings.
If you'd rather spend your unique escape indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal at the cabin (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
When you've exhausted the plethora of farm shops and markets, treat yourself to a night on the town. Long Melford Swan is a fantastic contemporary Suffolk restaurant worth trying as well as Scutchers nearby, whilst The George at Cavendish and The Queen's Head at Hawkedon are traditional old inns packed with character. For a special occasion visit The Great House for modern French cuisine.
