Proudly sat at the head of the creek with south-facing views over Chichester harbour and beyond, Snow Goose is a luxury river house near Bosham village, West Sussex that exudes all the elegance and tranquility of the swans that glide alongside. Style aficionados, fisher folk, and those with a love of sailing will relish time spent at this very special waterfront river abode.
A warm welcome awaits at this sophisticated waterfront property in West Sussex. Bosham is one of the prettiest villages on the south coast and steeped in history; thought by many to be the birth and burial place of the last Saxon king- Harold, King of England. Snow Goose is spacious, stylish and peppered with mod cons meaning the whole family can relax and rejuvenate at this luxury self-catering river home.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Each of the five first floor bedrooms are bedecked in fine linens and the fluffiest duvets and pillows to ensure a blissful night's sleep. The master super-king bedroom boasts an en suite bathroom with roll-top bath, walk-in shower and private balcony with far-reaching countryside views. The other king-size double bedroom has sliding doors leading out on to the spacious terrace where you can sit and watch the wildfowl landing on the water as you enjoy your morning coffee. In addition there is a sweet single room, a separate shower room, and through the library into the annex are two smartly furnished twin rooms which share a shower room.
The enclosed lawned gardens will be a favourite spot for adults to recline with an afternoon tipple whilst the children play happily alongside. Snow Goose is a twitcher's delight; when the high tide covers the mud flats all mud-feeding birds retreat somewhere quiet to rest and preen, while ducks and geese rest on the water surface or ashore. Keep eyes peeled for the proud heron, cheeky coots, and the lesser spotted Red-Breasted Merganser in this stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. And don't miss the Chichester Yacht Club sailing regatta in early June!
If you can pull yourself away from the peaceful surroundings and waterfront gardens at Snow Goose, then a 40 minute walk through the fields to Old Bosham will be one for the tick list with its treasure trove of quirky boutiques, artsy craft shops and quaint tea rooms. New Bosham is just a 10 minute walk away with a good traditional pub. The sun room is a peaceful spot to sit and watch the gently lapping tides in all seasons, whilst there's no better way to while away a winter eve than sat alongside the crackling fire with a good book and a glass of port.
There is parking for up to three cars. The kitchen has a dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and ice-maker. There is a utility area with a washer/dryer. The owners kindly request that parties with dogs are considerate of the swans nesting nearby.
