Ariabelle
Iping, Midhurst, West Sussex, UK
Dating back to 1850, Ariabelle is a luxury self-catering country house among the wooded hills of Midhurst in West Sussex, not far from Goodwood Estate and Cowdray Park. French chateau-style shutters open to an Aladdin's cave of twinkling chandeliers, period oak panelling and elaborate tiled floors. Look forward to morning swims in the indoor pool, drawn-out lunches and tennis tournaments backed by the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park.
Introduction
Found at the end of a sweeping tree-lined drive, Ariabelle is a lavish country home promising the ultimate luxury self-catering experience. Wrapped up within the renowned South Downs National Park, landscaped lawns tumble down to 60 acres of enchanting woodland before reaching the river Rother that winds through the grounds. Huge windows framed with pistachio green shutters conceal the myriad of treasures that lie within. If the palatial indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, gym, sauna and steam room aren’t enough, Ariabelle sits within easy reach of Chichester Harbour, Goodwood Estate and Cowdray Park Polo Club.
Inside
Begin your day working up a sweat in the home gym or make the most of the dedicated massage room where soothing treatments can take place (on prior request). Warm up and unwind in the sauna and the steam room before diving into the heated indoor swimming pool. Once your backstroke has been perfected, hop into the hot tub for a relaxing soak under the bubbles before visiting the bar for a chilled tipple. After long countryside stomps, curl up beside one of Ariabelle's open fires or continue the celebrations in the dining room with bottles of fizz and hors d'oeuvres. When eyelids eventually begin to heavy, ten dreamy bedrooms await up the sweeping staircase.
Outside
Manicured lawns meeting woodlands and wild meadows; the grounds of Ariabelle offer plentiful opportunities to relax and explore. Skip down the terrace steps to the tennis court and partake in lively family tournaments whilst the younger members of the family chase butterflies in the wildflowers, climb through the playhouse and enjoy a game of hide and seek in the garden. Head off through Ariabelle's 60 acres of woodland and wander further through the lush countryside on your doorstep. After the day's activities, strike up the barbecue or huddle around the fire pit after supper for toasted marshmallows and mugs of hot cocoa.
