Prepare to be dumbfounded by the welcoming ambiance, exceptional interior design and impressive pastoral setting of The Stack; this former engine house turned exclusive wedding venue in Cornwall will set wedding day dreams on fire.
The Venue A unique wedding venue in Cornwall, The Stack is quite unlike anything that has come before it. This former 19th century engine house exudes a pared-back, rustic feel, providing lovebirds with a striking backdrop for the wedding of their dreams. The Stack invites the outside in by welcoming guests to freely pass between the large deck, gardens and al fresco dining area. There is ample space for up to 40 people to roam within the house and grounds. If you're looking for a stylishly intimate place to celebrate your nuptials then this Cornish wedding venue will be the perfect choice.
The Accommodation The Stack can sleep up to six guests, meaning your nearest and dearest can help you to relax whilst they assist in the preparations during the run-up to the big day itself. Arranged over three floors, the beautifully-appointed bedrooms offer lucky overnight guests a sumptuous place to unwind before and after the celebrations. Bridesmaids and groomsmen will love to get ready using the huge gold mirror in the opulent bathroom, whilst the snug cinema room will provide a peaceful sanctuary for newlyweds to catch a moment away from the excitement of the rest of the house.
The Grounds This exclusive wedding venue in Cornwall is set overlooking the magnificent Fal Valley, a pastoral paradise steeped with Poldarkian intrigue. The wraparound gardens provide an informal setting which can be enhanced in whichever way you wish... perhaps you'll fashion a pathway of jam jars with tealights twinkling inside, or hire a novelty boat bar bedecked with a riot of floral blooms. A selection of garden games will inject an element of fun, whilst a classical live band will create a more sophisticated affair. We are happy to advise on local providers as required.
The Ceremony The house does not currently have a civil ceremony licence in place, but the surrounding area boasts some beautiful churches and chapels where a licensed ceremony can be held, including St Stephen-in-Brannel which is the closest just three minutes drive away. Alternatively, our humanist wedding celebrant Zena can help you to arrange your dream humanist ceremony in the grounds of The Stack - please enquire for further details.
The Reception For al fresco affairs twinkling lights in the trees will enhance celebrations under the stars, or you may prefer to host a seated wedding supper on the deck under an elegant stretch tent which ensures the rolling countryside views can still be enjoyed. High-spirited toasting and revelry will be well matched with smoky barbecue feasts, homemade pizzas and dancing in the moonlight, making way for a truly memorable wedding experience.
The Cuisine and Wine Embrace the Italian-esque feel of the al fresco kitchen-dining area and treat your guests to a Mediterranean feast of flatbreads, antipasti and handmade Italian pizzas, all paired with Prosecco and finished with tiramisu. Perhaps a countryside-vibe is more your style and you'll take great pleasure in sourcing the finest Cornish cheeses and locally-produced artisan ciders to satisfy your guests. Whatever you choose you can be assured that the bespoke wedding you create will be personal to you and your beloved.
The Entertainment You might be lucky enough to have a friend with the voice of an angel who can provide the a perfect background to your vows, or maybe soothing harp music will set the scene. As the festivities roll on you could choose a quartet of musicians, an acoustic covers duo band or a lively jazz act to get toes tapping. Being so blissfully secuded, there are no limitations to the type of entertainment that you can opt for during your reception at The Stack.
The Facilities Gather family members the night before your wedding to watch old family movies in the cinema room and recall treasured memories before you set off on a new adventure of your own. A dip in the sunken hot tub followed by a spot of yoga on the lawn is a fine way to calm pre-wedding jitters.
